And there came a day unlike any other, when the fans of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were united against a common threat! On that day the Edwin Awards were born . . .

As the Avengers Forever Website prepares to celebrate its seventh anniversary we are proud to announce the first annual Edwin Awards! The Edwin Awards (named after Edwin Jarvis, butler and most trustworthy aid to the Avengers) were created to give recognition to those who help make the Avengers the mightiest heroes that they are. “While there are many online comic book awards these days, we feel the Edwins are a bit different as the nominations are Avengers-related, as chosen by Avengers fans,” Brian Schott, Webmaster for Avengers Forever, explained. “After all it is the fans of the Avengers who buy the books and support the website and it is the enthusiasm of the fans that keep us going. This is just a small way for us to give thanks to the community.”

With over 30 categories, the Edwin Awards are not only for the creators, titles and characters, but also for the fans who post insightful, meaningful and intelligent thoughts in the forum section of the Avengers Forever.

And to help encourage voting, there will be prizes given away after the voting has been completed. These prizes have been generously donated by an Avengers Forever community member. Contestants can submit their votes electronically from the website and must do so no later than December 23, 2005. Both the Edwins will be awarded and the prize winners will be announced December 30, 2005.

Avengers Forever is dedicated to all things Avengers and Avengers related. On the website you will find character profiles, reviews of current and older Avengers titles, interviews with creators, fan fiction, desktop wallpaper, a back issues database, an articles database and online contests with lots of great freebies as well as the Avengers Forever Forum and even a chat room.

Please feel free to contact the Avengers Forever Webmaster with any questions you may have about the Edwin Awards or the website in general.

When I saw the thread title, I though at first we were going to get our own poster of the month for the Avengers board.

i was thinking about doing one of those myself, just impromptu, but for the marvel universe board. then i figured i'd just end up declaring myself the winner so i figured what's the point.
