Default Maxx style books?

With The Maxx and Sandman both ended, I'm jonesing for some surreal, dreamlike comics to read. Seems like most of what I like these days is either straight superhero stuff, or more down to earth stuff like Walking Dead, and I really just need a book that's more about emotion and abstract thought to round out reading experience. Suggestions?

New or older, doesn't matter...I should probably specify that I'm already into, or at least have tried out, most of the mainstream Vertigo books...Hellblazer, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, etc., and I have also followed the careers of Neil Gaiman and Sam Keith to a degree, so no need to list all of their later stuff, unless it is obscure enough I might not have heard about it...?

My dilemma is pretty much that I've tried out everything that sounds interesting to me, and none of it has really fit this particular niche, so I'm looking for stuff I haven't really been exposed to yet. I'm gonna post similar threads on the indy boards too, but I figured any Maxx fans here would have a good idea what I'm looking for, y'know?

Mora.

That sounds like what you're asking for. It's a new series from Image, by Paul Harmon. I've read the first 2 issues, very strange and surreal.

Assuming it lasts, it could be right up your alley.

I agree with equal rights for gays - including gay marriage. Racism is wrong, as is sexism. All men and women are equal, and should be treated that way. Drugs should be legalized, and taxed heavily. Guns should be illegal for civilians, in all countries. I am opposed to the death penalty, usually. There is no such thing as God, or the Afterlife. All religions are equal - equally stupid.

But don't ever call me liberal.

have you read the first volume of POPBOT?

it's co-plotted by kieth and very stream-of-consciousness.

Interesting description I wondered why I liked those comics.

If you're into anime and DVDs you will want to check out Dead Leaves and FLCL. Both of those series (Dead Leaves is just one DVD, while FLCL is 3) are mind-warping entertainment bliss.
