Default Spawn is awsome!

I have been meaning to get into Spawn for along time, especially since I saw the 2 HBO animated movies, which where very good and mostly comic true. Had a chance to pick up two key issues, but I didnt and I beat myshelf up for it now. Yesterday I thought "Why not just go to Spawn.com, its probuly a dot com." So I went their and got a synopsis of all 145 issues up to now, and it is so frekin sweet. I mean for being the undead, Spawn is just as human as any other superhero. He has flaws, weaknesses, and unlike this other uber types, he does his butt kicked, he even got killed and or died on more than a few occasions. But he always comes back and puts some serious hurt on the baddies. I'd like to see another fight Between him and Savage Dragon, their fight must have been sweet. Shoot if he kills Malebogia in issue 100 I cant wait to see what happens in issue 200. So who's with me in saying that spawn is awsome?

P.S. Does anyone know where I can find all 145 issues together cheap?

Try eBay. Only the first few issues cost a little bit more but arenīt that expensive.

Spawn was awesome for like... the first 18 issues, everything after that just felt like filler. I finally gave up at issue 50 and I havent looked back. I still feel the character had/has tons of potential, but with Todd writing it was never gonna go anywhere.

I think the only way we will ever get really good Spawn issues ever again is if one of two things happen:

A) Todd finally hires a top-notch writer for the book, someone with name recognition and a fan-following that could bring in new readers.

B) Todd sells the character to Marvel or DC, and they do a mature book featuring a new take on the character, preferably written by Garth Ennis(see point -A-).

Absolutely.

I think the title needs a good writer.

I dont know, I think the creator should write his comics, Im sure he can not do it for ever, but that way Spawn will be what he wants him to be. And if people dont like him for who he is so what?

i dunno, i haven't been really following the title, but the pace of the book seems to be about spider-man level. I wonder if that's coincidental or intentional, being both stories focus on one main character and todd has worked on both and such.

I bought the series up to #79..........then I quit comics altogether. I wasn't really interested in picking it up again when I came back...........and reading a lot of the comments about the series didn't help either. I flipped through a couple of issues sometimes, but that didn't make me pick it up either.

I bought Spawn 1-75... the first 20 issues I liked, but then the story never seemed to advance. It got to the point where I would buy the book and just go home and put it in my "I've read it pile" to bag and board. I don't know if I actually read anything past issue 25... Then there was the announcement that EVERYTHING WOULD FINALLY BE ANSWERED in issue 100... so I bought 97-102... and was so pissed at the "revalations" I will NOT buy another Spawn book again.

My favorite issues are the ones the other creators did... the Dave Sim book was my favorite and I liked the Gaiman Angela issue too.

I still like Spawn, and he's Mammon's bitch now.

As for writing, I don't even think Todd even writes Spawn anymore... he just plots. That's barely even writing.

At least he still has control of his work. You can rest assured that my work will be mine, and mine alone as long as I live.

I am a big Spawn fan... I have been fan since he first came out. The character has gone through alot of changes since the beggining I think they are on the right path remember the character is still elatively new compared to a Superman or Batman. And Spawn has to be slow his ultimate destiny is armegeddon this si in the middle how does he get there what side does he choose that is what is interesting.

Pick up Curse of Spawn freakin brilliant!

Its not that I am offended, its just that your post was borderline unreadable because of the formatting and grammar. :(
