Default "Death, Jr." #1 in stores now

A shameless plug by the author:

"Death, Jr" #1, the first of a three-part limited series from Image, written by myself and illustrated by Ted Naifeh, is in stores now. It's 48 full-color pages of prestige-format goodness, cover price $4.99.

Fans of Ted's work will definitely get a kick out of this -- it's his first ever all-color book, and it looks fantastic. Here are some links to the first five pages:

Synopsis:
Middle school is never easy, but it's even harder when you're dead. "DJ" tries to live the life of a typical teenager, but the fact that his dad is the Grim Reaper makes things tough. Luckily, he finds his niche with some of the weird kids: Pandora, a little goth girl, Smith & Weston, conjoined twins, Stigmartha, a girl who bleeds when she gets nervous, and The Seep, an armless, legless, foreign exchange student in a jar. So when a trip to the Museum of Supernatural History gives him an opportunity to impress his new friends, he unwittingly puts himself and the whole town in danger.

And finally, a pic of the #1 cover, so you can find it on the shelf ;-)

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy it! I'd love to hear your comments.

If you're attending APE in San Francisco this weekend, stop by Ted's booth and say hi -- we'll have free "Death, Jr." posters to sign and give away.

PS: Issue 2 is out June 8.

I did a little bit here about how good TWO All-Ages comics were this week, Power Pack #1 and Death Jr. #1.

Read it half an hour ago. Boy was that awesome! I picked it up because Ted was drawing it and I really liked it (both art and story).
Black humor at it's best and cool, funny yet bizarre characters.

Stickmartha?! WTF?

BWAHAHAHAHA!! *thumpsup*

That picture of Death with the "World's Greatest Dad" cup nearly killed me. Heh. :D

I just found out that Steve Purcell (Sam & Max) is doing the cover art for Issue 3. How cool is that?
