LTB has the honor and privilege of appearing as the showcase tale in the Arizona Children's Literacy program this summer. WOOT!

Awesome news man.

Do you guys have any plans for more "all-ages" titles?

Yes. The Gimoles, with art by the next British art sensation, Theo Bain, will launch this summer: http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gimoles.php

Noggle Stones by Wil Radcliffe, is being adapted into comic form from Wil's young adult fantasy novel: http://www.runemasterstudios.com/nogglestones.php

Scott "Killer Stunts, Inc" Kinney is developing Kid Kosmic (working title): http://www.runemasterstudios.com/kidkosmic.php

and Derrick Fish and I are preparing to launch Runemaster's first super hero book, The Light Knights: http://www.runemasterstudios.com/for...forum.php?f=34

I already posted this on the Runemaster boards (and some others), but darn it, it bears repeating:

This is SERIOUSLY awesome news! Mike, you and everyone at Runemaster have set a shining example of what comics should be, not just in the quality of the books you produce, but in the way you conduct business and interact with people. This is the kind of comics-related event we need more of.

By thy side,

Figaro

Another quick question. Not sure if it's been asked before, but how were the sales on the first couple of issues?

Great news Mike!

I'm very hopeful that reprinting the story in the trade comes to fruition because you just know I'll forget to read it online.

I'm very happy to see that the series is getting some serious pub!

The first issue sold out in 18 days, the second sold out in 18 hours. :)

Didn't you say that the third issue looked like it would sell out before it hit the shelves? If not, it should!

Once the story has run in the paper - which has a circulation of nearly 600,000 on Sundays - they’re going to collect the story into one book and give it to all the children in the literacy program, roughly 98,000 kids.
Really, this is the extraordinary thing. Not just for you personally, but for comics in general. Not to mention the kids.

I agree "it should" because of the quality of the story.

But it would seem to be a pretty poor business decision by Image to NOT ramp up the print run of a comic that's selling well. Of course, I have no idea when decisions regarding number of copies being printed are made, so my critique may be totally unreasonable. :o

On topic: Congratulations Mike! I'm stoked for Runemaster and the whole creative team - and I'm also stoked that I get to read some more tales of LTB. :D

Well, unfortunately, due to the nature of the market, the print run for #3 was determined based on pre-order numbers that were turned in right before #1 hit the stores. Even though there was a heathly over-print of every issue so far, based on the series performance to date and the fact that #3 had the lowest pre-order numbers for the entire series (#4 jumped way up, since it was the only one pre-ordered based on the in store performance of the series), chances are it'll be sold out via advance re-orders before it gets shipped, from what I'm told.

On topic: The Library contacted me and informed me the summer LTB comic strips have been pushed up and will now debut on Sunday, May 22nd. :)

For those not in the Arizona area, you can view the strips online at www.runemasterstudios.com beginning on May 22nd, as well as on www.azcentral.com.
