For me this is a tough call between the original animated series from the 60s and Spectacular Spider-Man. I also have a lot of nostalgia tied up with the 90s TAS and Amazing Friends.
Ultimately, I think Spectacular is the best in that it has high quality modern animation to go along with great stories and faithfulness to the source material, especially the old Lee/Ditko and Lee/Romita Sr. stories.

"Spectacular Spider-Man" has fast, beautiful animation. Sharp writing. Great, logical character development. A cool soundtrack. And an absolutely phenomenal voice cast.
It is both objectively and subjectively superior to any Spidey series that came before it. Unlike... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5tQHowPGXk

Sigh, because I am sick of saying this to ignoramuses. You don't have a problem with the animation, what you dislike are the character designs. Most of the series before this had slow, horrendous, animation that was full of errors.

Dude, you have to agree with me about the mold, mold is the main reason I don't watch the show, it's ignorant!

I love the animation on Spectacular actually. The character designs might be a little anime-ish with the big eyes and what not, but that's not really a problem for me since I like that style anyway. What I love though is the action and movement with both Spidey and the villains. Like ViciousX said it's very fluid and well paced, especially the fight scenes and just swinging through the city.

As for why Peter has a mole. The character designer, Sean Galloway has that mole. He asked if he could give it to Peter, and the producers said "sure." And, right, the show's ignorant. I have not seen any other series pay as much tribute to Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and John Romita as this one. Hell, they've got Doc Bromwell, Coach Smith and so many characters. Not one single character with a name is one they made up. All from the comics.
