Default leave jeph loeb alone!!!!

lol, ok now that i got everyones' attention i want to start off by saying that we need to stop being so mean to the guy, yeah he isn't the best writer in the ultimate universe, but if he stays there long enough he might come out one of the better writers. Unlike a lot of fans i actually enjoyed Ultimatum, to me it was a fun story that kept me guessing (mainly who was going to die next, lol). yes the guy can be inconsistent, but the guy is pretty new to the whole ultimate universe. what many fans forget is that he wrote some amazing books at both marvel and dc. remember batman hush? or spider-man blue? just give him a chance and we might get something wonderful.

Batman Hush illustrated evidence of Loeb's ADD.

I'm glad you wrote in past tense when refering to his work. He WROTE good books, see that? WROTE, not he is WRITING good books

I think it's safe to say we have given him more then a chance. He is not new to the UU, he has written a fair bit and none of it was above DECENT

he has only written ultimates 3 and Ultimatum, both of which weren't that long, i think once he gets going it'll get better. I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, i seriously think he will get better from here on out.

That's 2 arcs. Millar only needed 4 issues of Ultimates 1 and 1 issue of Ultimate X-Men to win me over. Bendis had me on the first issue of Ultimate Spider-Man.

I was thinking about waiting out the Jonas Brothers. I don't like 'em now but I'm sure in time I will...

This is ridiculous logic.

Also didn't really require a new thread, there are plenty out there already.

I really think you're just deluding yourself.

Ultimatum just might be the worst comic I've ever read, and I've read some doozies (most of them by Loeb). Both Hush and S-M: Blue were horrible stories that featured some good art by Tim Sale. I've never liked a single thing Loeb has written; why would I start now?

I would love it, love it, if Loeb just disappeared from writing altogether. His stuff is just trash, even his lauded works (never understood why people like The Long Halloween other than the art). He just might be the worst writer in comics, and I certainly wouldn't mind not seeing his name anymore.

I'm pretty much in the same boat here, but for some morbidly sick reason, I enjoyed Superman/Batman 26. Probably because of Jim Lee's opening spread and the laugh I got when it went to the abruptly out of place Rob Liefeld roid powered Superboy

The ultimate cap annual was great, but that when loeb try trough.

I have some faith in ultimate x,but for everything else, loeb is just not a good fit to this line.He doesn`t really give a shit about the characters or anything,he have the same problem that heroes suffered with season 2 and 3,the focus on action rather than story.

when i read the title, i just kept thinking "chris crocker." I imagined him saying "leave jeph loeb alone!" Is that what you were going for? It worked.

All I have to say is that Spider-man:Blue was good.

If Hush had not featured the godlike Jim Lee art, no-one would remember it. It was an incredibley mediocre, predictable story (although his DC work is immensely better than his Marvel stuff). And use some capital letters, dammit (sorry, but that kind of thing annoys me)
