I was thinking who my favorite minority character was in comics: mister terrific. Then he got stabbed- and the latest issue confirms he is dead. Maybe, his death is faked or he comes back as a black lantern. But if not, man this sucks.

I lean heavily towards his not actually being dead.

I agree. Any man who is known to have not only metals balls but balls that create holograms(!!!) is not going to go out like some D list hero.

I thought I saw something like a Black Lantern action figure of him somewhere.
Anyway..he'll be back.

How could something like this possibly happen in mainstream comics? Amazing, man.

From Tucker Stone, about the first issue in the arc:
"This is a single issue comic book about a team of super-heroes fighting a team of super-villains. There are 16 super-heroes in the fight, and it looks like 21 super-villians on the other side. There is also another super-hero, whose name is Mr. Terrific, and he is playing with a computer at the team's headquarters because one of the members of the team has turned into an egg. And out of all the characters on the team, who does the known conservative writer stab in the back in his first issue? The black guy. Sixteen people to choose from, and he picks the black guy. God's weeping, ya'll."

Probably not dead. Anyone remember how many times Sand got "killed" in the previous JSA series? Had to be at least twice, maybe even three times.

No, I think he's still alive.
It's part of the "Geoff Johns JSA Drinking Game." Every time a team member is put in a nebulous state of peril that promises to simmer as a subplot for the next several months, do a shot.

Damn. One of the few DC characters I liked enough to actually go out and buy a toy of. I always thought he was really cool, and not just because of his kickass costume design.
Ah well. It's mainstream superhero comics, so it's not like he'll stay dead.

I'll bet anyone 100 dollars that he is still alive, and that this is a ploy to smoke out the 'behind the scenes' villain.

Secondly, maybe "the black guy" has a logical reason for being chosen? |
