Default Which Marvel Heroes whine? Who whined? Who never whined?

I read many complaints online that Spider-Man whines, most of those who complain read other Marvel Comics, no one ever said anything about other heroes whining in Marvel Universe, Why?

I can name several other heroes who whined during their run, but I'll wait for your naming those you know who whine and those who don't

I got my hands on the Captain America run of the last 60s and 70s recently and it's basically 22 issues of Cap fighting and whining about the good old days and not "fitting in". Falcon also whine a lot about if Cap will take him seriously, about if Cap sees him as equal or that maybe Cap doesn't need him. It's gay.

Apart from that, great run!

Sidekick hater!

But seriously, I love comic sidekicks who dont want to be treated as one. Nightwing comes to mind. As well as Bucky Barnes, Iron Fist or Jim Rhodes.

Dick Grayson in a way left Bruce because he was growing up. I would have loved to have seen him react as Batman's partner when he was older as Nightwing. Around the storyline "Year 3" when they introduced Tim Drake as the new Robin, there was a few issues with Batman and Nightwing together and they looked like a dynamite team. Except for Powerman and Iron Fist, I've rarely seen a duo where the two are equals, you know, two kickass professionals at the top of their games. A duo I would like to see would be Hawkeye and Moon Knight.

Black Bolt can't whine literally. And what do you mean Hulk doesn't whine? That's all he does a good deal of the time. "Puny humans don't leave Hulk alone", "Puny humans hurt Hulk", etc.

Top 10 whiners (not necessarily in order):

Spidey
Daredevil
Rogue
Wonder Man
Silver Surfer
Nightcrawler
Steve Rogers
The Thing
Hulk
Iceman

Of course, not all writers make them whining non-stop. And villains whine even more often than heroes.

Oh, and I like nearly all the characters on my list, so don't whine

Daredevil is Marvel's #1 whiner. No question.

Whine/Whined:
  • Spider-Man ("Joe Kelly" still make him a whiner, I'm happy the others decrease this guy whining level)
  • Silver Surfer (Does this one still whine?)
  • Steve Rogers (He's already mentioned to have whined in the Silver Age, I'm glad I'm not the first to mention this as a fact)
  • Iron Man (If you consider the "it's my fault" rant whining then you shouldn't deny him, even when he got crippled he whined, he whined too much)
  • Rhodey was a whiner when he feared Tony will take the role back and steal the glory away from him
  • Hulk "Omega Alpha" said enough about it, at least in savage green hulk form he does
  • Bruce Banner (his whine is sensible though, imagine yourself carrying an uncontrollable monster)
  • Thor (In issue 600, the story written by "Stan Lee" he whined about how tired he is from being summoned and relied on too much)
  • DareDevil (every time he loses one of his girlfriends he whines too much)
  • Howard the Duck (Is he forgotten? He wanted to commit suicide on this gross new world)
  • Moon Knight (I'm giving up, I can't do this anymore, WAAAH, WAAAH. Many heroes wanted to give their roles as heroes up)
  • Ben Grimm (I'm a monster, leave me alone huraah hurraah)
  • Johnny Storm (Crystal, oh when shall though meet again)
  • "Sue Storm" ranted too much on her husband keeping her away (she does have a point though)
  • Sub-Mariner (Surface Dwellers, I don't trust them. YAP YAP)
  • Been meaning to add Cyclops the whole time thinking, for some reason I forgot to type him. He whined plenty after his wife died (every time she dies)
I don't know if "Reed Richard" ever whined

Have to disagree. Cyclops whined about EVERYTHING from 1975-2007. He's only recently grown a pair and began taking matters into his own hands rather than blaming others for his shortcomings.

Daredevil is what we would call proto-Emo. This guy has more heartaches and pity-parties than some disaffected kid wearing a Jimmy Eats World shirt sipping on a Starbucks coffee in a vague attempt to drown his life's sorrows while hanging out at a Dashboard concert.

And we love him for it.

I think his whining period started when Jean died. I remember when he left the X-Men 'cause he had to "find himself". Other than that he was a fine leader, it wasn't especially easy to put a team of upstarts into an efficiant fighting squad.

But in a way, Scott's whining is part of his charm.

Immediately before that, Rick Jones whining about both how he'll never be as good as Bucky and how Steve is mean during their training sessions because he's not as good as Bucky.
