Default Tomayto/Tomahto: How do you pronounce...

After learning that 'Daken' is pronounced 'Dah-ken' (thanks I was wondering), years of pronouncing it 'Sub-Marine-er', and even my brother's attempts to convince me it was 'Magnet-oh' (I never bought that one though) I thought an all-purpose character/name pronunciation thread would be helpful.

Are there any names that you know are comonly mispronounced when said by fans/readers? Any names you're not sure you're saying right?

On a slighlty related note for years I misread 'Latveria' as 'Lavteria' and for some odd reason I always thought it was 'Miss Marvel' and not 'Miz Marvel'. No idea why that one escaped me.

I'm reminded of a Gen X gag: Dr. McCoy, how do you spell "Sat-Yr-9"?

The M'Kraan crystal from the Shi'ar empire!

The old cartoon pronounced it "Em-Krawn", while one of the video games kept calling it "Mic rawn". Hated the video game way even though, for all I know, it could be correct!

I always read it as Em-Krawn like the 90s show said it.

Ooh Magneto's 'real' last name:

Lehnsherr.

Is it Lense-hair? Lenn-share?

Yeah, Magneto is an odd one. It is pronounced "Mag-neet-o", but logically it should be "Magnet-o", really, since what the heck is a "magneet"? *L*

LOL Well duh. It boiled my blood when I heard all those uneducated people pronounce it "The Dark Night". Shame.

Speaking of Moony, how do you pronounce that God who gave him his powers?

Im really unsure of that one. I've heard it pronounced both ways by People, and in Media.

Ooh good one! I pronounce it 'Nay-more'. I almost don't want to know for sure for fear I'm wrong. I'd hate to have to pronounce it differently. lol
