Here, discuss your favorite super-villian,whether he's a top villian,a cult classic, an obscure favorite,or even a lame one(no offense,Stilt-Man),this is the place to unwind and celebrate all that is evil and rotten in the Marvel Universe!!!!!

Default Doom

Dr Doom is the only reason I buy comics anymore. But I'm particularly prejudiced. I know that there are lots of other worthy characters, stories, and comics ... I don't have the time/money/space for them all. So I'm sticking with Doom and that's good enough for me.

You'd be surprised at just how many comics I'm buying for that reason ... he pops up all over the f-in Marvel U.

Unfortunately I often have to complain about "how" he's written. Many times though I'm transfixed in awe ... "Books of Doom", f'r instance.

He's really such a powerful character, he can be overused, but I still would like to see him in his own regular book. Done right it would be sooo worth it.

MADAME HYDRA is easily my favorite villain ever.

CBR: We also have the Black Widow, who many thought was the weakest link of the Mighty Avengers, stepping up and showing how formidable she really is.
Andy Diggle: The new team leader is Yelena Belova, the "evil" Black Widow II. She's a bad-ass Russian agent with a chip on her shoulder. Very capable, very seductive, very deadly.

Doom is da man... I won't even bother going into why I think he's so cool, since everyone already knows why he is.

But as far as lesser villains go... I've alway had a fondness for Purple Man. I love the fact that Bendis finally took the character and gave him some spotlight, because there was something I always found so frightening about him.

He's not out to rule or destory the world... he's just out there to satisfy his base lusts, and he's got the power to do it. That's one of the simplest yet potentially scariest guys out there, and it's neat Bendis was able to show that.

i feel like marvel unlike dc doesnt really have the iconic villain. we have alot more villains just none of them seemed to get to that epic scale besides say doctor octapus, green goblin, venom..

ones that i like though are

radioactive man just seemed so cool to me.

along with

i hope we at least see him get quickly beat up in a montage by the avengers or hulk.

Loki : basically because he started the Avengers. He's always been just a perfect villian, i'd just like to see him on top eventually.

The Hood : My favorite new villian. Most people say he is played out, or overrated it seems, but i've yet to see a bad book with him in it. And pretty much every villian in the crime syndicate are amazing.

And
The Wrecking Crew.
The best group of villians, when written well that is. They are a very good match for the Avengers most of the time. Probably my favorites of all time.

I love Dr. Doom, but I think Loki might be my favorite. I love the idea of a villain who's a trickster, and who plays on other characters to fulfill his own ends. The kind of villain who has this convoluted scheme for power or whatever else is on his mind. Even though Thor is one of my favorite characters, if Loki wins a battle I'm never upset. The pair bring out the best (and worst) in each other.

Damn I miss Victor Creed. Remember when he used to run through the Marvel U making everybody's life miserable.

I've always been fond of Gamora, myself...but for sheer muderous mayhem I look to carnage and venom.

As for new-ish villians, I was really partial to Morlun. I know most people hated the whole magical spider totem deal, but morlun was a perfect badass vamipre, the kind of villain morbius should have been...sigh

I think DC has had a bit more success getting their villians on the screen. You had 2 outstanding Jokers, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's. Lex Luthor, I really don't get why they've messed around with him so much though.

For me, the only good version of Doctor Doom that made to the screen was Darth Vader (with a bit of Darkseid in there too.) But I would still consider him Marvel's most Epic villain, short of any of the cosmic level ones like Thanos. Certainly, he is the most Shakespearean with touches of Richard III.

I could have written this post myself There was a time when I did follow a lot more Marvel titles regularly but I've cut way back and just try to keep up with the Doom appearances and a few other ongoing titles. Right now, I doubt that Marvel would give him another ongoing, thought I would love to see a revival of Doom 2099 somehow. But I'd be happy if they kept up their pattern of a limited series and a "What If" every so often. The What If comic where he kept the powers of the Beyonder was one of the better recent "What Ifs" period. I liked the "Doctor Doom and the Masters of Evil" but I'd like any future ones to be in a more serious vein and to actually be in continuity, like the ones Chris Claremont or Chuck Dixon did.

While i have a think for mad scientists and evil geniuses(Dr Doom and Dr Octopus)Kingpin is by far my favourite crime boss in fiction and had some of the best marvel stories.

Default Osborn

Really? Am I the first to say Norman Osborn? He seems to be the most human villian I have seen in marvel. What Ellis did with him during his run with the Thunderbolts was amazing.

I just don't find Dr. Doom interesting to tell you the truth. I know people are going to flip out and rant when they read this, but to me Dr. Doom just seems like your sterotypical James Bond Villian

I know what DoomScribe means. For me that villain is Romulus.

The amount of anticipation before every Wolverine: Origins title is undescribable. It's the best part of the month. Ever since I first read Evolution, I have been completely obsessed with that character, and have been keeping track on everything there is about him, which so far hasn't been a lot. I know every word he said so far, even every single reference to him, and not only in comics but in interviews too.

I have especially been waiting for him to come out of the shadows, has to be years now, and every day I think about it, about the moment when I finally see that page... I'm not sure how I'll make myself believe it's actually happening.

But I am also concerned about his future in comics. I'd hate to see them throw him away in favor of Wolverine. It would be really bad, because I've read a lot of comics, but never has anything come close to this. Another issue is Wolverine: Origins being a monthly title. Since he only appears in it, it just feels like such a long time to wait for what is often less than a shadow or line.

All in all, it's nice to see there are other people who have a similar obsession.

I really like Aegis and Tenebrous, but they were killed off so quickly and by the Silver Surfer no less. They were just so much more awesome than Galactus. Plus they gave Galactus a severe beating. Maybe DnA will bring them back one day. I think I'd kill for that.
