Default ~Spider-Man and Deadpool together again at last~

http://splashpage.mtv.com/2009/07/15...-man-one-shot/

Quote:
Given all the buzz surrounding mouthy mercenary Deadpool these days, it was only a matter of time before the character crossed paths with one of the most famous members of Marvel's masked chatterboxes, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man -- and that's exactly what's going to happen this November in the pages of "Amazing Spider-Man" #611.

Not only will the issue pair two of the publisher's most banter-friendly characters, but -- you might want to make sure you're sitting down for this one, Deadpool faithful -- the match-up will be scripted by fan-favorite "Deadpool" writer Joe Kelly. Responsible for Deadpool's celebrated, surreal run in the late-1990s, Kelly will script the one-shot issue that pits the mouthy, movie-friendly heroes against one another in what he described as "a big, baroque comic book story that devolves into a 'yo mama' fight."

Bring it, Joe.

Here's my concern -- can this book possibly live up to one's expectation for such a meeting?

Anyone remember Batman/Spawn by Frank Miller?

Having said that -- I'll likely be getting this book.

I can't wait! Two of my favorite characters teaming up always makes my inner fanboy tingle.

I'm glad to see Deadpool becoming more popular, too.

*They both shoot jokes at their foes
*Both wear closely identical outfits (Deadpool; the Amazing Spider-Man rip-off)

EXTREME FUNNY (I hope)

Does anyone else worry about the deadpool exposure? I really think this is all going to backfire.

I just think Marvel is going to have a hrd time selling a deadpool movie. Also there are so many bigger characters in the MU that they should be focusing on for possible movies.

Marvel may bleed the character dry like they did with Venom and Ghost Rider, to the point where Deadpool too will lose popularity.

But his ASM appearance, after the disappointments of their first two official meetings, looks to be effin epic. Especially since it's being written by Joe Kelly. He seems to not only actually get Spider-Man but also evolved Deadpool into the character he is today. This one will be fun.

Finally.

I was disappointed when they met in Cable & Deadpool since Nicieza made Spidey the Abbott and Deadpool the Costello, and it was very underwhelming.

Seeing them both actually banter back and forth will be spectacular. I can't wait.

Well, the recent Deadpool/Bullseye meeting over in 'Pool's book is going to be hard to top, I think. That definitely cemented them as 'Bros'. Those two were made for each other.

But I look forward to this because of Kelly.

That's just what I said. Spider-Man was preachy and high & mighty and Deadpool was actually funnier than him

Same goes for their second meeting in #50. Spider-Man was made to look like a humorless chump.

Joe Effin Kelly, my friend. It's already a given.
