But Captain Britain is fun with lots of action, so what's the problem?

the first thing that drew me to comics was not the art I disagree with that.

Even now bad art/good story is fine with me. goodart/bad story is not.

I'm the opposite. Comic books are visual, so I can definitely handle bad writing but good art. The other way around there is no way I can. Not saying I like bad writing, but it doesn't have to be anything but good.

I don't need some avant garde, best selling writer adding superb and ground breaking dialog to something I can see with my own eyes. Simple writing and awesome art is best for superhero comic books.

I don't think it'll ever really post him in a negative light. What's been great in this series so far is that it's actually explored areas of the character which haven't been explored in quite a long time. He's actually come across as far more three dimensional character.

Long may it continue.

Luckily Leonard Kirk's artwork has been spot on, on this series.

Since Paul announced the death of a character coming up soon, it may mean the start of a new line up that (hopefully) will increase sales. I would buy anything with the Black Knight but if he were to leave, I would still buy this title because I like the premise of the series (magic, supernatural etc.).

I actually initially bought this because of Captain Britain, but Black Knight was a very close second. Both of these heroes are 2 of my favorites. I also love the fact BK is back in costume, and I love Kirk's rendition of it. I also dig his design of Excalibur's costume as well. But just like you, bkdane, I'm a buyer of this mag for life, no matter what happens.

Britain is a magical place.

Dude, it WAS cancelled. When they finally do say it, I don't even want to hear you whining about it, because I don't recall you really doing anything to save it but attack anybody who has sense enough to know the business realities. Stay in your denial forever.

Lol, yeah, every comic book writer under the sun denied that the book was cancelled, Paul Cornell explained it and I'M the one in denial. Sure, that makes sense . . .

I seem to recall making a banner, putting release dates of the upcoming issue in my signature and sending e-mails to all of the writers and editors that you posted the addresses of (and, unlike you, I'm not so childish as to say you didn't do anything for the sake of an argument. Even if all you did was post some links . . .). So you know what? When they finally do say it -- in other words, when it is ACTUALLY cancelled and not just someone complaining that it is when it hasn't been -- I don't want to hear you whining about it either. It seems to me that you've been doing that for the past six months or so anyway when you should've been enjoying the book while it was there. "It's over, waaaaah . . . it isn't really but I just like to say it . . ."

With the state of comic book sales being what they are Captain Britain and MI13 stands about the same chance of cancellation as a good dozen other Marvel ongoings with it. The difference is that this title is actually very good, has a very vocal fan base and Marvel seem to be very happy with it.

if anything, constantly telling people the book is cancelled/going to be cancelled it going to have the opposite effect. If anything it would push people away from a book that they think is going to be done in a couple of months.

There's truth in that statement. I initially stayed away from this titlle because a) it came out of Secret Invasion and b) it seems like every other comment I heard about it was that it was about to be cancelled. I finally tried it, thanks to the positive comments on this board, and now I love it.

So bury the hatchet, boys, we're all in it together!
