I'm afraid not Bookem Danno. That story never never definitively proved her to be.

Meggan has always been a mutant, from her conception, and stated as a mutant in her second appearance. She's the only Marvel UK character I can think of who has been stated as a mutant. Others (Like Psylockew) were later later retconned in. Meggan on the other hand shapes her appearance to the wills of those around her - as is her mutant power. She first displayed this talent as a baby, leading her family and others to believe she was some kind of monster. But of course because they believed she was a monster that's the form she took on even more.

While she does have an empathy with her surroundings, which give her certain elemental abilities, she is not some kind of fairy or similar.

Not in the 198 files. But then she had just passed out of the 616 universe, presumed dead, at the end of House of M. It is also worth noting that the 198 Files are deliberate in continuity files. They aren't designed to be 100% accurate - they're designed to be what the O.N.E. believe to be the case, in continuity. These files also state that Jamie Braddock is a mutant, when he almost certainly is not. He has never been stated as being a mutant in panel, but it would be easy for the O.N.E. to assume that he is.

To echo what others have said, the Neuri showed Meggan her true appearance - but that doesn't make her a magical being. She's been a shapeshifter her entire life, her appearance shaped by the beliefs of those around her. The fact she didn't know what her true appearance was proves absolutely nothing about her background.

As one of those involved in the 198 Files, I can confirm what others have said above - Meggan was not included in ONE's listing of post-Decimation mutants because she was believed to be dead, not because they didn't consider her a mutant.

How do you figure? She can move before he can blink, has more combat experience than he and still has the vamp strength. She doesn't need to know about vamp regen if she can't get hit, she doesn't need to know how to control the weather, she doesn't need to know how to summon rats etc. They're all surplus.

I didn't really see it as a stalemate either, more as her toying with him in the burning building.

Jackie was an active hero in the 1940s during the war. She retired some time during the 1950s, and aged relatively normally, so while she might have had the odd adventure in the meantime, she didn't gain a great deal of combat experience during the intervening years. She was deaged recently (the last 4 or 5 years at most, Marvel time), and has been active as an adventurer since then. So we are looking at perhaps 20 years worth of fighting experience.

Blade was born around 1920 (he's actually around the same age as her). He's been actively fighting vampires since his early teens. That means he has between 60 and 70 years of fighting experience.

I love Jackie, and in other respects she may well be more than a match for Blade, but on combat experience, he does have her beaten by a long way.

along with what the other guy said, Blade is a master martial artist, while jackie hasn't shown training in any form of fighting. Using her speed to punk people doesnt show skill.

Blade also used his vampiric speed and strength to keep up with spitfire i nthe fight so she couldnt dominate him.

....she didnt seem to be toying with him much, heck blade almost killed her....if he hadn't stopped to chat spitfire would be dust...
