Smile Wolverine and The X-men: It's Mission Statement and It's Future...

I was just thinking about W&TX... it seems to be an enjoyable and solid X-men series and I can't wait to see it.

I want to pose this question to you fellow X-lovers out there... How long will its present "mission statement" last? I mean, how many seasons could this animated series be about Wolverine trying to avert a dystopian future before it gets old?

I would personally hope that the show's "mission statement" will change eventually and if it did, maybe the title as well. But I doubt it. Wolvie's a cash cow right now.

What are your opinions and what do you want for the show if it continues past three seasons?

I want to see more of Angel and Iceman. They are my favorite part of the series so far. Also, bring in Cannonball and make Rogue even more awesome. It'd be nice if Cyclops got his throne back, or if the cast became expansive enough to have multiple teams.

I doubt the 'avert horrible future' plot will go beyond season one. Season two would introduce some new threat i'd expect.

Well..I think I just set myself up for spoilers. I'm only on episode two.

Anyways...Original storylines if anything, although that tends to piss fans off if they don't stick to the original story. (re: X-Men movies) Take bits and pieces from stories like the Dark Phoenix and put new elements to it..Things like that...

i tend to agree with most of the posters, the show of wolvie trying to avoid a dystopian future will probably last for the first season (is it 13 or 26 eps?). And, if it goes on for more than two the show may get stale. no doubt apocalypse or sinister will be a new villain for another season, with some sort of master plan. i have seen the first two eps in english, and am really diggin it so far. i like how kelly, and the humans in general, are the bad guys with the registration act and sentinels. i feel that the writers, is it yost or kyle, are really taking the best elements from the past and present and making a kick ass show. now not to get to long or wishful thinking, but i would love to see a morrison "new x-men" type story arc, and it may happen with the writers able to incorporate the old concepts that work, with the current stuff going on in comics (emma frost as a forefront, less xavier, for example). can't wait to buy this on dvd. its my fav x-men animated series so far and was introduced and grew up on the 90s x-men animated series, never really got into xmen evo cuz i was usually sleeping off a hangover when it was aired.
