Wolverine is the ultimate revenge fantasy. In an inudstry largely created as literary wish fullfillment, you actually believed WIZARD could imagine anyone else being #1?

I'm still amazed anyone over age 12 pays any attention whatsoever to WIZARD.

Pretty sad that the Watcher beats out fifty characters.
Surprised that Olsen beat Superboy, Supergirl, Superman-Prime, Lobo, Cyborg Superman and timberwolf on the list. Also, when's the last time you saw a Wizard list like this where around 10% of the charactered are tied to Superman? And they include Bone, the Spirit, Mr. Fantastic, Blue Beetle, Elongated Man... Lots of "square" characters. Wizard is no more intelligent than they were in the 90s... But they've grown up a little. They actually managed to list 200 characters without really falling back on any otherwise unmemorable cheesecake girls, otherwise unmemorable guys with claws or all that many characters who were created five minutes ago and being pushed by a company. I disagree pretty profoundly with the list. But every character listed is pretty much worth being on some kind of list of notable comic book characters. |

[Y]ou may wish you could be the more-than-human Man of Steel or Spider-Man, but-- minus the moneybags-- Batman's the type of guy you can actually be.
Okay, Wizard-- if you folks really believe that shitloads of money is the only thing differentiating you from Batman-- here's a rope, go find a roof.

I agree... they pretty much sum up everything that's wrong with comics.

Yeah. Any list of top comic characters that puts Wolverine at #1 is pretty well null and void on contact.

I always find any list disagreeable to some extent. This one is certainly no different. Though it was good for a chuckle.

I think the fact that Wolverine's at the bottom of the list and Superboy-Prime is at the bottom shows how wack the list is and how limited Wizard's view is.
Superboy Prime has no business being on the list. |
