Default Anonymous vs. Scientology

I find this whole series of events rather interesting and I'd just like to hear the thoughts of the CBR Forums population on it.
Do you think it's right? Do you approve of the methods? Will you even be joining in somehow?

Could you give the gory details for those of us who live under rocks (like me)?

Basically, it seems various groups from various sites have decided to unite to bring down the Church of Scientology. The group is calling itself Anonymous and has apparently been launching DDoS attacks against scientology websites of all kinds, bringing them down.

They also seem to be in the midst of organising street rallies and such at scientology centres.

I guess the scientology guys have struck back, because my high-speed internet is taking forever to get to that linked site.

Heh.

They struck back by a gazillion people flooding to the site to take a look at it.

Take that, anonymous!

I finally got there. Whoa! Those event maps are very specific. I will definitely enjoy watching this conflict proceed.

Scientology is like every other religion. Just leave 'em practice their voodoo in peace. Don't bother them and they won't bother you.

We are talking about the same organization that tried to steal government records relating to it, right? Or to cause a women to be unfairly institutionalized?

Like I said, they're like every other religion. The Jehovah's Witnesses bother me like once a month. Should I try to hack their website?

Not to mention the kidnappings and imprisonments, and the resulting deaths.
