That's what makes the whole "White Hot room" concept a crock of $#!+:evilangry It already had guardians. Sure The X-Men encountered the damned crystal but at that point in time it was just a massive jewel containing untold cosmic power, which contained a neutron galaxy in its core, and was said to be the nexus of all realities. The M'Krann Crystal guardians--Jaff & Modt--were charged with keeping all intruders out. However, when Raza threw D'Ken into the crystal, the guardians vanished. However, the M'Krann Crystal used the X-Men, Starjammers, & D'Ken own fears to keep them from further entering into the crystal's nexus.

So no, Magneto would be powerless against Modt.

Phoenix--who at the time possessed unlimited power--was powerless against Modt.

I remember when they bypassed the guardians, using their own fears against them was m'kraan crystals other defense. but I was just wondering if anybody could beat modt, I guess not.

I haven't read a comic in about 4 years I thought maybe there was some new character who would stand a chance
