Default am i the only one unimpressed by messiah complex?

i find myself not at all caring about this mutant baby or the x-mens betrayer or this whole time jumping crap etc? this whole storyline bores me to tears and i hate how it interfers with other books storylines.

Yes.

And how is it interfering? You realize that Brubaker, Carey, PAD, and Kyle/Yost all got together and planned this storyline out, right? And that they built up to it in the storylines they were doing pre-Messiah Complex.

Yeah, I don't see how it interferes with any book (except for New X-Men).

They all planned it out together, it's moving a good number of their characters forward, and it's telling an interesting story with a surprisingly decent pace.

If anything, I'm more impressed than I expected to be.

That said, I'm confused as to why so much is being changed post-Complex. It seems to me that if they planned it all out together, they would make sure all of their stories would be continued afterwards--which, in the case of New X-Men, I am fearful that it won't.

I dont think it interferes. As Beast said, it was all planned out very well. It flowed perfectly. I loved all the stories that led up to it (except Uncanny's. That was blech).

I do like Messiah CompleX. I'm not in love with it, but I'm certainly enjoying it quite a bit!

You may not be the only one, but you are vastly outnumbered by those of us enjoying Messiah Complex.

What was the point of this thread? It falls under the opinion rule as there is already a MC discussion thread.

I tried swearing off marvel after world war hulk (what a crap ending!), so I resisted mesiah complex. To be honest though, now I kinda feel like I missed the bus.

Not happy with it. As some have mentioned it seems to be no more than a variant of the 90's cartoon, Bishop treacherous turn, lack of Storm and New X-Men unless they are chow for PredX. The good thing is the New X-Force book.

It's not prefect but overall I've liked the story. My biggest issues would be pacing and the fact that Predator X so far doesn't seem to belong in the story (even though the jokes made about him keep me grinning).

Feel lucky that you missed the bus. You could have wound up like those poor New X-Men kids. ;)

I'm digging the characters in it, but i tend to agree that they've done a poor job giving a reason why anyone should care about the baby or why the baby is important. It's the first new mutant. So what? Why is the kid so important and tons of mutants need to die. Trading one new mutant for a dozen or so existing mutants means their going to go extinct sooner.

The rationale for why what's happening has been the problem. The big revelation on why Cable didn't tell the X-Men he was alive and didn't go to them for help is stupid.

On the surface Messiah Complex has soon cool fights, but dig deeper and there isn't much there.

Marvel spent a lot of time explaining why that baby is so important in the build up to MC.

Exactly. Endangered Species set-up perfectly why the child is so important.
