Default New X-Men: Can I Hope for an Omnibus?

I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding a potential release of Craig and Chris's New X-Men as a complete collection. I would love to see a HC TPB--mostly because I love having things completely collected, and because, as of right now, they only have soft-cover TPBs.

Anyone know?

Not a chance in hell. For the most part the Omnibus books are reserved for major classic storylines or modern self-contained classics. So unless the New X-Men kids get a movie for it as a tie-in, not bloody likely.

So, should I just go ahead and get the SC collections right now? Rather than hold out hope...

It's your best bet. You can get some decent deals online for the series.

If you're looking to get Nunzio & Christina's run as well, you should know that the second half of New Mutants (pre New X-Men) was never collected in trade paperback, for some stupid reason.

Probably best. You could mail Marvel and let them know you're interested though.

Although there seems to be a big push towards HC's latley I wouldn't hold my breath, at best NXM might get the Premier tratment but it's a little late in the game for them to go that way now

Yeah. I have PAD's X-Factor in Premiere--which made me very happy to find--but have only seen New X-Men in soft-cover.

Thanks for all the helpful replies though, everyone.

Maybe, since the status quo is about to change (just as C&C were starting to get it right...), I'll just wait and see if Young X-Men is worth collecting. Yeah...

As Beast said, the second half of New Mutants isnt collected. To get New Mutants #s 7-13, you have to just look for back issues. I bought them online. Here are some good sites.

www.milehighcomics.com
www.lonestarcomics.com
www.eastcoastcomics.com <--Cheap, but not necessarily reliable...
www.midtowncomics.com

Other than those issues, you can get New Mutants 1-6, Academy X 1-6, 7-12, 13-15 + Yearbook, and then the HoM TPB too. And each arc of C&C's run is out as well.

I never understood why they skipped collecting those issues. It makes no sense.

But some of their earlier TPB habits were pretty goofy. They've improved a lot.

I really enjoyed their first run of New Mutants. It was New X-Men Academy X that kind of turned me off.

Yes. I'd like to get their New Mutants run in trades but it seems unlikely at this point unless New Warriors hits it big and the other surviving members become wildly popular wherever they're off to as well.

This is kind of depressing. i was just getting into new x-men...and it seems like the writers just found a great tone before messiah complex came barging in.

Regardless of what Young X-Men looks like....i hope Anole isn't phased out. He-finally- got his due.

I doubt the writers would do that, since they know how popular Anole is. I would say Anole and Pixie are the only two who are definetly safe.
