Default Nothing says "superhero" like . . .

. . .stiff art, mangled bodies, and sad people.

Superheroes: where fun goes to die.

Yeah, but check out Superman copping a feel.

EDIT: I need to enhance this in photoshop. Is there something reflected in Barda's boobs?

These last few years, it's like the comics industry has been run by Chuck Klosterman.

Also: "Are you there, God? It's me, Mary Marvel."

He's not copping a feel! He's sad! He's so sad about all the bad things that happen! He's gonna have a super cry. Man of steel, tissue of Kleenex.

Well, if I were sad because all my friends were killed for sales, I'd wanna' cry into a Greek chick's tits, too.

I don't get it.

Oh, is that how he got famous? I didn't think there was a magazine for humorless, cynical , narcissistic, deconstructionist twaddle, so I wondered what his initial market was.

Like you really need an excuse.

I think I remember Michael having a thing against him.

I can't imagine him writing something about superheroes crying, though.

I just don't get what's supposed to be going on there.

Okay, Superman, Wonder Woman, Mary Marvel, and probably Black Canary and Green Arrow are sad. Mr. Miracle, too, but Barda's not doing much.

Ion and Donna just look bored, like they meant to leave the party half an hour ago but got stuck talking to a drunk actuary.

Bat-Sword-Guy and Robin-guy are flashing off generic poses.

And then Flash looks kind of freaked out by something, and that he just arrived or is ready to leave; it can't be comfortable to stay in that position for very long.

Jiminez is normally pretty decent, but that's simply an abysmal piece of art.

There was a time when Superman crying meant "Wow, things must be real bad!"

Then it was used so much it lost its meaning. But they kept on using it, so now it's basically a character trait. The Silver Age had "Superdick", we have "Superpussy".

The art is good, the composition is... meh. To be fair, I'm sure he was given explicit instructions to keep his great art from being great.

"Make everyone look like they're made of cardboard. Jam these dead folks halfway into the mud. Make Superman cry, because comic covers with crying Superman sell, sell, sell!"

I didn't think it was possible, but Jimenez's art is getting worse. What is that from?

Holy shit, Max's head is on backwards.

And I'll bet you money the artist got a note about that.
