Default CBR's All-Time Top 100 Artists and Writers! - Discussion Thread

Here's your spot to discuss the list! Make guesses for who will be the top picks!

Just don't reveal your picks here (gotta leave SOME mystery)!

Are you posting all one hundred writers and artists today, or are you spreading it out over a period of time?

EDIT: Damn server.

Uh... so yeah, if Dave Sim's at the bottom of the ladder, who did he just barely beat out?

Spreading them out.

I can only do two per post (because of the image restrictions).

I figure I'll get ten total today (well, more because there was a tie for 50th for artists).

Alright then, I'm gonna' throw my bids in.

Top writer, I'm thinking, might go to Jack Kirby. He was one of the guys on my list. Top artist I don't know. Personally, I had a whole hell of a lot of trouble trying to put together a Top Ten artists for my submission. It was much easier for me to pick the best writers I could think of, but there are so, so many more artists.

I think Alex Ross might take it, though. He wasn't on my list, but I'm sure he was on plenty of others'.

I'll be absolutely shocked if Alan Moore isn't the top writer. Stan Lee and Grant Morrison probably have a shot at it too.

I hate to say it but I fully expect Jim Lee to get the top artist slot. Jack Kirby has a chance and I'll be pleased if he gets it.

Wow, a four-way tie for the fiftieth artist on the list. I'm glad it turned out that way instead of guys like Adam Hughes and Andy Kubert only slightly missing the mark for the Top Fifty.

That idea makes me queasy.

Yeah I like ties as well. This way people won't be bumped off the list.

Interesting to see Sim and Ware make the list as writers. Not that it's not deserved, they're both very good writers. I guess I think of most writer/artists as artists first.

Really? Why's that, though? Myself, I think of writer/artists as writers first because, to me, the most important thing in any comic book is a strong story, followed by complimentary art.

I think it's interesting that these two guys are at the bottom of the 50. Though I reckon Ware'll make it higher up as an artist. But Sim's suffering from what have you done for me lately syndrome.

More likely the "misogynistic psychotic" syndrome.

Thus far I'm enjoying the lists. I hope at least 5 or 6 of my picks make it. Theres a special one I named on there and I hope he makes it.
