Default CBR's All-Time Top 100 Artists and Writers!

This was a lot of fun on the X-Board, and Matt Bib is currently having a lot of fun with a similar idea on the Avengers board, so I figured, let's go all out and do a big one and see how good of a response we can get - the more votes, the more accurate the results are!!

Okay, so the idea is, everyone picks their Top 10 all-time favorite comic book writers as well as their Top 10 all-time favorite comic book artists (so it'll be two lists, with 10 people on each list).

You then rank your favorites 1-10 (with 1 being your favorite, 2 second-favorite, etc.).

For each first place vote, the writer/artist will get 10 points. For every second, 9 points, etc.

I will let folks vote until 11:59 pm EST, September 30th, so we can get as many votes as possible (the more votes cast, the better the results are)!

Voting is really easy. Simply click on my name on the left, then select "Send e-mail to Brian Cronin." Then send me your 10 favorite writers and your 10 favorite artists. No PMs, please (as the PM box would get filled up quickly ;)). Just use the "Send e-mail" function. Also, that way we can be assured that every ballot is by a CBR poster, and that's what we're measuring here - what are CBR's All-Time Top 100 Artists and Writers?!

Starting October 1st, I'll count down the results, AFI-style, with the Top 50 Writers and the Top 50 Artists.

Sound cool?

Then start voting!!

-Brian

are they any links you could give that would list some writers and artist? Namely I can't remember names that well (and my spelling is horrible) Writer's I could probably get though, but artists I know what comic issues I really liked but the name of the artist really doesn't stick with me.

For me, that was pretty much just in the writers category.

What about writers who are also artists as well? (i.e. Jim Starlin or Walt Simonson) Do they count on both lists or is it one name on one of the lists only?

You can put them on both lists where you want. Or one on one list and omit the name on the other.

Any comic book writers and artists. If your favorites are all manga, then that's cool. It'll be interesting to see where manga artists and writers will rank on the final list.

Just comic book writers and artists, no comic strip writers and artists.

If you like a person as a writer and an artist, just list them on each list, separately. Also, if you like, say Keith Giffen, but you only like him as a plotter, listing him as a writer is fine.

I don't mind strips, it's just that it will undoutably lead to most people NOT voting for strips, and then all the great strip writers and artists will end up waaay too low.

Voting is really easy. Simply click on my name on the left, then select "Send e-mail to Brian Cronin." Then send me your 10 favorite writers and your 10 favorite artists.

So no posting your votes in this thread.

I'm glad your keeping the votes private because I'm sure you could see the results of people going " You honestly voted for WHO ? "

I'll be sending my votes soon since I studied on who to vote for.

Opposite for me. I know who's writing I like, but there are so many more artists I enjoy out there. That one had me head-scratchin'.
