So how many people are into this game? I've grown to love it. For those who don't know it's an RPG with similar gameplay to games like Baldur's Gate. Only difference is that in NWN you only get one party member, yourself. It is possible to hire a single henchmen, but that's it..and it isn't even necessary, although it does make the game a bit easier.
I loved Baldur's Gate(Well, BG2 to be precise) and I enjoyed other similar games like Icewind Dale 1 & 2. However, none of these games has kept me coming back as much as NWN has. Part of it is that if you replay the game as a different class/race your experience will be quite different, although you will still mostly get the same guests. The main thing is the modding community. I've never seen a modding community this large or that lasts this long. The game came out in 2002 and still to this day new modules are released, even more-so than the mods for NWN 2. Sure, some of the mods are crappy..and some suffer from just being too short. Still, there is a lot of great mods out there. I've found a lot of enjoyable ones lasting 15-40 hours, extremely well done, with an engaging storyline. One that comes to mind is a module called "Darkness over Daggerford". What is special about this mod is that it was made by bioware, but for some reason they released it for free on the net. It's a great mod with over 30 hours of gameplay. Another personal favorite of mine is a 20-30 hour mod dealing with Ravenloft and Count Strahd. Just curious to see if anyone has tried playing some of these mods. There are two types of mods: mods that modify the gameplay in some way, or modules that are entire games themselves(like Darkness over Daggerford. I suggest anyone who plays NWN, even if you aren't interested in playing different mods, to install the PRC package. It adds a ton of new feats, creatures, races, regular and prestigue classes, new spells, fixes a lot of bugs, etc. I could not even begin to list everything it does. You can find it here: http://www.nwnprc.com/news.php If you are hesitant to download you can click the "NWN Manual" link on that page and get a detailed list of everything that has changed, as well as the benefits etc. of the newly added races and classes. Another link for those who are interested in playing some mods: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.List This site has pretty much every NWN module ever made, and people are still adding more. People can feel free to list in this topic any mods they have played and enjoyed, as well as any mods that made changes to overall gameplay that you found particularly helpful or just plain cool. Basically, if you enjoyed NWN, I guarantee you that you will thoroughly enjoy playing these various mods and tinkering with the overall gameplay of the game. Hell you might even be inspired to create your own mod, which is much easier than it sounds if you use the toolset that came with the game. This would be especially useful to those hoping to get into creating videogames for a living. Granted most games do not use the toolset that comes with NWN, but it's still a start.

Played Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the underdark
They are pretty fun game, the main game storyline is a let down if you played Kotor, Shadows of Undrentide would have been a bit more fun if they played on the fact the hero get turn to stone at one point and you don't know how long you have been turned if you had (Plus there that half-elf in the village that promissed me a night of encouragmenet I could never forget, when I fix everything, I would have love to see that promise be honored) Hordes of the Underdark had a fun storyline

I played it one time years ago and liked it. For some reason though I never went back and played it again nor the expansions at all.

Still, I admit I did enjoy Hordes of the Underdark more. Mephistopheles was one hard dude to beat at the end, unless you knew his true name. I also liked that spoilers:

I still say any fan of the game should at least download the "Darkness over Daggerford" mod. It was made by bioware and they intended to sell it online, but they ended up just giving it out for free. If you liked the main game then you owe it to yourself to at least play the expansions. They add new prestige classes, feats, etc. and you can also actually choose what your henchmen equips.
