Smallville: Wonder Twin Powers Activate! (Spoilers)

I won't pretend to know the details of this episode, since with the exception of the Jor-El episode I haven't watched an episode of Smallville without fast-forward in about three years. However, I did slow it down to be disappointed seeing Zann and Jayna being played by the two most generic white kids ever. I'm sorry, but at the very least they should have been Asian to at least approach the source. Purple plays a part, but she's never a purple animal and he's not purple ice (or rain) and there's a hint they tell Chloe they're actually aliens. If they full-on revealed it, I was too busy fast forwarding.

However...

...that the back of Jayna's cell phone had a picture of Gleek and the ringtone was his voice almost makes the whole episode worthwhile. Also, there is one nice Superman-type moment when Clark finds the cell phone, calls the number and traces it back to them in seconds and just when they're about to activate their powers (not knowing he's coming), he sticks a hand between the two of them and while the feedback knocks them out, he just stands there unaffected.

Oh, and the iconic glasses show up.

Episode was decent but I think they were a bit too quick in letting the Wonder Twins know who everyone was. Chloe reveals herself and Watchtower immediately without knowing who these kids are or what there agenda is with her biggest threat to keep them in line being she'd delete their twitter, facebook and other online accounts. She figured they were trying to help with their sloppy saves in the name of The Blur (I hate that name with a passion) but they could have easily been doing that just to draw him out if they were villains. Then Clark reveals himself by the end of the episode even though he's constantly trying to keep his identity a secret. I think they found a decent way to work the glasses in though since they've never once hinted at Clark ever needing them throughout the series.

I liked the episode. Kinda missed the Twins' pointy ears, but it was okay otherwise.

I thought it was a bit of a 'lol' moment when Chloe threatened to eliminate their virtual lives, though.

Nice episode and a nice touch about Lois discovering his identity and then being fooled by a rather unsophisticated trick. Remembers me of Clark trying to hide his super physique at the beach by burying himself in the sand and letting a flabby rubber arm hang out. Haha.

Will Clark nail Lois? Wasn't he worried that supersex would squish Lana? Same with Lois. Although we know that banging Bizarro is possible.

I think it was good. They certainly up-played the belief that the Twins are incompetent especially in the beginning, but they gave them a good showing by the end.

And I loved Lois "Just what I've always wanted" line upon seeing the trussed up cops.

Thought it was good. I liked the glasses and Chloe's 'Blur' mug. They finally showed the S in other colors than black and silver.

I'm sure I'm in the huge minority here but I really like the dynamic with Clark and Lois now and it makes me more and more upset to think of all the time the people who run the show wasted shoving Lana down our throats. While I thought last week's show (Kandor) was just fine I didn't like it as much as the previous week or as much as this week and then I realized why. No Lois.

That's the lexicon of Superman's youth. Lana was the first love. They had to go through that the way they had to go through high school.

Yeah I understand that but they took creative license with so many other aspects of the series that they certainly could have curtailed that especially when the fans, via message boards like this and the like, made it obvious that they were fed up with her. I'm not a huge Superman comic book reader but I'm reasonably sure there were no Kawatche caves in the comics and Clark did not first meet Doomsday in Smallville so sticking to canon by the letter wasn't exactly a priority for them. She was already established as his first love when they brought her back during the Doomsday arc for no reason other than to use Kristen for the last of the episodes she was under contract for.

Well, the thing about commenting is, you won't see 12 page threads about how much someone loves something. I never made a comment about Lana and I enjoyed her. We always knew the destination of their relationship so it was the journey. I wasn't watching a story of Superman's youth to see Clark and Lois. I was watching to see Clark and Lana.

That's quite a compliment to the writers cosidering that the "Z" and "J" were only in this ep for a whopping total of 10 minutes of air-time

And that was fine, up until she got engaged to Lex, started becoming "badass" Lana, and all that other stuff. Super spy Lana was painful. Not as bad as witch lana, but still bad.

I loved her early on too, but she (or at least Kristen Kreuk) definitely wore out her welcome.

You are absolutely not alone. This show was becoming unbearable. And Lois' character for me was one of the only beacons of hope.

Seeing lots of the mythology beginning to sprout out of these recent episodes makes me terribly giddy.

I was a casual viewer of the show in past seasons and though I've never been a Lana fan I could stand her as long as they were in high school. It was the years between then and now that gave this show a bad rap.

They had no idea what to do with Lana once she had separated from Clark (according to the mythos) so they kept her around in the most trite and depressing ways.

I would have loved to have seen Clark and Lana remain friends with some amount of tension as they explored life apart, Clark working on writing and honing his powers etc, but that isn't the way they went. *sigh* Instead they played the emo back and forth "Tell me you love me" "How could I have ever loved you" angsty drama week in and week out. Ugh.

And finally Clark is acting like a (mostly) emotionally healthy person and doing all kinds of Super stunts,dating Lois, developing his secret ID, working w/ the justice league, wearing the \S/ etc.

You are not alone at all.

I had no problem with them upping her game. It made sense that someone who'd been through all she'd been through would learn how to take care of herself. There's no problem with Lana's character that's not a problem with Clark's character, Luthor's character and the show itself: it all should have wrapped up long ago.
