I don't live or work in Hot Springs anymore, but it's scary just the same. I like to think the area I'm in is safe and it is for the most part, but you never know when someone from out of town could be crazy. Just a week or so ago we had a scary situation happen where a couple from Texas was staying here to attend their son's football game at one of the colleges. At about 11:30 at night, the man started beating the fuck out of his wife. They were in the very last room on the end of the hallway on the second floor and her screams were so loud she woke up people on the very opposite end of the building on the first floor. The desk clerk that was here called the cops and they stormed the place. The guy bolted down the stairs and out the side entrance and fled on foot, but was eventually caught.

I'm just glad I wasn't here when all of that was going down.
