Actually the location of a few worlds are sort of fuzzy and it can lead to some funkyness that apparently Bendis decided to take up for some reason? Or maybe the page before started showing one world and this next one shows the rest, whatever.

I meant the Siege mini itself. I will probably get the free issue, but I won't be getting the Siege issues themselves.

It's 8 worlds probably because Asgard is on Midgard nowadays so the "9th" world is mixed with the 5th one. Loki probably wants to take Asgard back where it belongs (and rule it of course), something tells me Daddy Odin might return at the next corner...

Yeah, I'm not even sure Asgard should count as a world anymore. It's really just one city floating a few feet above Oklahoma.. calling it a whole world is a bit much.

It's not Mephisto though, it's supposed to be Surtur or at least the style of Surtur that Marko Djurdjevic drew.

Italian artist Lucio Parrillo drew the interiors, his style is more akin to Gabrielle Dell Otto's than Greg Land's.

Knowing JMS's Galactus-sized ego and how he refused to even aknowledge events going on in the greater MU during his Thor run, I say good riddance.

Thor belongs to Marvel- not JMS- if they decide to use one of their oldest established characters in another book, the Thor writer can just get over himself - just as it is in Cap and Iron Man.

If this is done right, Thor will pick up a bunch of new fans- as it's pretty much a Thor event- it's past time the Asgardians returned to the MU.
Considering the major shakeup in the rest of the MU that Dark Reign has brought, it was pretty hard to believe that a threat like Thor would be ignored by Osborn.

At first I thought The Siege was only about the end of The Dark Reign but the inclusion of Asgard has made it pretty intriguing. I wonder what they're going to do with the idea.

Hopefully with Doom on the throne of Asgard.

I wouldn't say that's entirely true.

JMS had Thor fight Iron Man during the height of his power, showed the Dark Reign elements of the MU in the 600th issue, and the Doom and Loki alliance has been prominent throughout. He didn't write the Thor Secret Invasion tie in but that seemed to be entirely optional and other writers outside of the normal series writers had written the tie ins to other books like Jason Aaron with Black Panther and Mike Carey with X-Men.

I can totally understand why JMS had left given what happened during Amazing Spider-Man as it was carried by event after event (The Other, Civil War, Back in Black, OMD).

Maybe he felt that experience wasn't as enjoyable and preferred to write his own story until the Siege thing came along which might have clashed big time with whatever he had planned given the scope of what's going to happen to Asgard.
