Default Superheroes and the psychosexual underbelly.

besides Flex Mentallo, and the Seven Soldiers: Bulleteer mini, which comics covers this topic of an alleged superhero-psychosexual subtext?

Well Watchmen brought up the inherent kink in putting on a tight fitting costume and then going out and beating people up.Hangman was explicitly into the rough stuff, and it was implied that Night Owl and Silk Spectre got a little rush after taking down the Knot Top gang members (And who can blame them? )

And then there's the Boys of course, which asked exactly what kind of man would take in "Gifted Youngsters" and dress them up in spandex and leather

Bring back Negasonic Teenage Warhead! Because there are more people who want to see her in the X Books than there are who want to see Jean Grey again.

I loved the "Heroes want redhead" trope being referenced when it turned out ALL of a dead superheroes sex-buddies were redheads. All twenty or so of them!

Marston's Wonder Woman stories frequently mentioned psychodynamic concepts like the influence of the unconscious mind (Cheetah's origin).

The Sandman played heavily with Jung's theory of archetypes. Blatant one, the Hulk = The Id.

Millar just ran with this in Ultimates by making the Hulk there raw Id.

O_o okay that's...different. I mean in our universe posting red hot slash about Spiderman and Venom is fine (It IS damn it! ) because their fictional.

But in the Marvel U, wouldn't that be the equivalent of posting a hentai fic about Ted Bundy?

Then again I'm sure those probably exist on some dark corner of the internet. I've learned never to underestimate how screwed up people can be!

There's a THING miniseries by Evan Dorkin and Dean Haspiel called "Night Falls On Yancy Street" that gets into similar territory. Ben Grimm starts dating a girl, and eventually finds out that she has a particular fetish for "monster" types. And then her ex shows up...
