Exclamation Computer virus removal help

Well, I've got a doozy of a computer virus here. It's more annoying than anything else. It's a "redirect virus" of some sort. It's also affecting the load up of my Ati Control Center.

99.9% of the time I'd be able to handle it and get rid of it. But this one is a toughie. I've been battling it most of the weekend. I am this/close to saying screw it and using the re-install discs that I have, but that is the absolute last resport.

So far I've used Malwarebytes, SpyBot, NoAdware and SuperAntiSpyware. I thought I had it erased with NoAdware, but I guess not. I've run them all in safe mode as well to no avail. So I am stumped. I amnot going to pay for something unless I know 10000% for sure it's going to take care of the problem.

So I'm looking for some help here! If ANYONE has any ideas, I'm all ears here.

I recommend going to this forum:

http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22

Read the instructions in the sticky post at the top, then post your info along with a request for help. Someone will reply, identify your virus, and help you get rid of it. They have access to custom software that gets rid of viruses regular antivirus programs can't handle. It's free, but you may want to make a contribution after they fix your machine.

I had this exact same virus a while ago. Spybot cleared it up but if it's not working in your case I'm not sure what to suggest I'm afraid darling

Okay. Easy enough to handle.

Get HijackThis and CCleaner. Install them and reboot in Safe Mode. Run CCleaner first. If you are losing the fight with it then it has embedded itself into your registry files somewhere, CCleaner should be able to find it and get it out of there.

Then run HijackThis and PM me the log file. Pay very close attention in the log file to anything called a BHO. That's usually where your redirect problems hide out.

Thanks, Shel. I had a feeling it was in the registry, even though it looked like it was found at one point.

Give me a bit to try this and I'll get the PM to you.
