Default Favourite kiss in fiction!

Maybe I'm feeling strangely saccharine, maybe it's the episode of the West Wing I jut watched, I have no idea. But what are your favourite kisses in fiction and why?

For me:

Comics: All Star Superman #2 - Superman and Lois kiss on the moon. I'm a sappity sap sap, but turning that page brought massive smile to my face.

TV: The West Wing - "the Cold" Donna rushes to tell Josh their new polling results. The two characters are just incredibly happy and then...

Film: I have no idea. I was half tempted to put "the end of Superman II" but even I wouldn't go there.

Cruel Intentions: Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair.

THAT is how a lesbian kiss should be done. Alison Hannigan's pathetic attempts were feeble by comparison.

I agree with equal rights for gays - including gay marriage. Racism is wrong, as is sexism. All men and women are equal, and should be treated that way. Drugs should be legalized, and taxed heavily. Guns should be illegal for civilians, in all countries. I am opposed to the death penalty, usually. There is no such thing as God, or the Afterlife. All religions are equal - equally stupid.

But don't ever call me liberal.

I'm tempted to say the Mary Jane / Spiderman upside down kiss in the movie. Just so uniquely perfect for that movie.

I hated the Han Solo / Leia kiss in Empire, because I was one of the three people on the planet who preferred Luke to Han. And Han was making the moves on Luke's girl, the dirty backstabbing pirate. Boy, was my face red three years later.

The first kiss in Brief Encounter is one of the most romantic things I've ever seen.

Off the top of my head...
  • Cinema Paradiso (you know which part I'm talking about if you've seen it)
  • A Mighty Wind
  • The Dawn/Tim kiss from the "Charity" episode of The Office UK

Kisses are icky!

Seriously though, while most kisses in tv shows somehow either cause me to turn away or at least roll my eyes (I don't know why that is), I did kind of like the kiss between Silverbolt and Blackarachnia following their exchange in the Beast Wars episode 'The Agenda': "You don't know whether to kiss me... or kill me", "I'm a black widow spider, you idiot. I could do both" And then they kiss half off-screen. I think there were some more Silverbolt/Blackarachnia kisses in the next season, but I don't recall details; I do remember I liked their romance a lot.

You'll love the book it's based on, then.

That was awesome.

I nominate Jake and Cassie from Animorphs, #26. When the whole team thought Jake had died to kill a Howler and he managed to survive by the skin of his teeth. The two of'em ran into each others arms and kissed the hell out of each other before either realized what they were doing, or that they were doing it in front of the whole team.

There's something sweet and nice about the Nite-Owl/Jupiter kiss in Watchmen, with the whole Atomic Bomb going off. I don't know..just is.
And their last kiss in Karnak is nice as well, mirroring the Hiroshima graphitti tags.
