Talking My Interview With Richard Corben!

So as some of you may know, I got a job writing a column for Lance's Comic World(it's a football player, he owns a site, it's...strange, but y'know, still cool). Part of this job includes conducting interviews with people involved in comics.

This first one that has gone up, Richard Corben, is one of my favorites because A)The man is a legend of the industry, B)He's been drawing for a reeeeeally long time, which means he doesn't worry about hurting people's feelings and can speak candidly, and C)He's one of my personal favorite artists. So! Please read/I hope you dig it.

Congratulations! What a coup!
Corben was incredibly inventive with the use of airbrush in his comics. Before computer art, his works in Heavy Metal were some of the most "realistic" I'd seen.
Good work, 40!

oh..and to the site..how does "football player" fit in all this? And..I thought you were Black.

?!?!?

Why did you think I was black?

And basically, it's just that the site is owned by an NFL player named Lance Briggs. He plays for the Chicago Bears and he really loves comics and I guess...he wanted a site that featured both, so he made one!

Thanks for the kind words!

Cant get the interview to load for me at the moment, so I'll have to check back later to read it.

but congrats!

Love Corben's work ("Den" is a fave, and not just because he's a big naked barbarian :)).

and I thought you were a Black man as well -- thought you had mentioned that somewhere before.

Man, I'm pretty sure I never mentioned being black. If someone could find that post I'd appreciate it.

Also, thanks!

I'll dig around for it. It seems there was a clear implication that you were self-identifying as black.
Regardless, I should have checked your link out long ago. Nice stuff!
