Default Overlooked fellow from Fist of Legend vs the Overlooked fellow from Ip Man

1) Which one of these other guys takes it?
2) They sit and talk about how they're overshadowed in the movies they're in.
3) Which one is more impressive?
4) Tho they get pwned in the clips above, what would you think of them if they were real world martial artists running their own separate schools? (and with not seeing the movies they were in)

1) Ting An by a slim margin, for the same reasons Chen Zhen takes Ip Man (ie: cartoonish wire-fu strength). He's not walking away unscathed though, he swung pretty wide and Sifu Liu's technique was relatively compact and efficient.

3) Ting An. He actually managed to hit his overclocked protagonist counterpart a few times and launch him, and kept his reputation aloft despite his affinity for hookers. He had a strong sense of duty as heir, but the script hated him. He was a more rounded character with something of a character arc; Sifu Liu was pretty much 'oh hey, it's that guy!' halfway through the movie.

That's not to say that Sifu Liu didn't try, the plot just crapped all over him what with the Northerner and Kite-boy peeking in, and the script pretty much leaving him as a one-off character to physically embody the transition from old-world to new-world with a Mauser to the head x_x;

4) Sifu Liu would go far as a pretty decent teacher, open to contests of skill and the ideas of others. Ting An seemed to flail around a little, lacking in precision and adaptability. However, he'd make a killing in selling a workout routine.

.
Yeah, srsly, these guys only got to shine against random mooks. And even then, Liu still overreached himself and got destroyed.
