I'm starting to learn guitar! It's quite difficult. I'm trying to learn how to play Falling For You, it sounds all wrong but it's really quite fun to try and learn to do. I'm interested in trying to learn piano, but I'm not sure where to begin on that one. Is it possible to learn piano by yourself?
Also, I can't sing, like at all, but I sing often and with lots of volume. I think I'll join the chorus of the musical this year (Little Shop of Horrors!).

I co-produced the second digital music project EVER in Atlanta (an EP for my band Avant-Garage), with a Dixie Dregs album being the first. I play Keyboards, half-assed, bar-chorded Guitar, and I'm a singer who writes songs.

My 14 year old daughter just taught herself to play the guitar, and she really enjoys it. She is almost obsessed with it, and complains if a day goes by when we are super busy and she doesn't get a chance to play her guitar. She learned on a crappy hand me down guitar, but we just bought her a brand new acoustic guitar for her birthday. It's name is Annie, and she loves it!
I myself played the flute. I haven't played regularly in years, but have dusted it off for a few special occasions/weddings etc. It's just like riding a bike, it only takes a couple of hours to get back in the groove. I also sing, and was really involved in a bunch of singing things in high school/college. Now a days I only really put my singing to use when I'm helping my drama kids with the musical every year. (We just finished our run of Footloose this past Saturday )

If you can't teach yourself guitar, you're just not musically inclined. Maybe you're trying to advance too fast? The basics are easy, and once you have the basics, you can play almost everything...once you learn guitar, the skills will translate to almost any string instrument...
Piano is a lot tougher to learn. I tried teaching myself that and could never get past the basics. Don't think I'm coordinated enough.... |

Often, when no one's listening, I might sing along with a song.

I used to sing in high school but my voice isn't very good at times now due to asthma and hay fever. I tend to get throat and nasal inflamations that badly affect my voice and breathing.
I attend Salvation Army services occasionally and I have difficulty singing the six to eight hymns in a service. It isn't unusual for me to have to sit out two to four hymns because of a sore throat or breathing problems. I'd love to be able to sing like I could 15 years ago but I can't hit as many low notes as my voice tends to crackle at times. I also tend to sing too high now at times.

I play guitar and sing a bit. Only in the last few years have I gotten serious about trying to do both at the same time. I'm learning, I guess.
In fact, my wife gave me my Xmas present early today: another electric guitar, an Ibanez Jet King I found at a pawn shop the other day for a good price. She gave it to me now to try it out and make sure it all works. It's pretty cool.

I bet you have an amazing voice too! *Kisses you*
I can sing a little, but instruments...no luck there Claire-Bear is great on the guitar and violin though. What she can't do, isn't worth doing (Though I'll admit, I may be a little biased here )

I fumble around with the guitar and sing. Most of my singing is musical theater-type stuff, though. Which I'm pretty good at but, you know, I wanted to be a rock god, not a trained singer.
