Just found out yesterday, a month after the fact, that George Tuska passed away, at age 93. I still have most of his iron man run, he did back between june of 1968, to the end of 1969, . After that, he'd do an issue now and then, such as 32 and 38.I beleave he drew avengers 48, the first apperence of the new black knight.Like Sal Buseama, marvel called upon him to crank out a fill in fast, so after his iron man days, his stuff didn't have the detail his earlier stuff did, but I still liked such as his fill in for captain marvel 54.He was one of marvels second era of tallents, coming in back in 1965, on the capt. america strip. He had one hell of a long career, retiring only a week or so before his passing.

I also just found out recently of Mr. Tuska's passing.
93 years old? And the man was still working? That's an impressive career for an impressive talent. R.I.P. and thanks for your contributions. You are remembered. |

I fondly remember him drawing severaly Iron Man issues, but I most fondly remember him drawing the famous "We Do Seek Out New Avengers" issue number 137, when the Beast made his first appearance as an Avenger. When the Beast really looked like the Beast.
Rest in peace, Mr. George Tuska.

George Tuska also penciled early issues of The Champions and worked on the brief newspaper strip chronicling the DC heroes' adventures, The World's Greatest Superheroes. One of the industry's greats! A posthumous "Thanks" for your contributions, Mr. Tuska!

I've been reading Tuska's work on Iron Man lately, and it always amazes me to see people complaining about his work in the letter columns. Thanks for all the great work, Mr. Tuska.
