Default Who here is currently anxious and scared of the future?

I am. Hopefully not that this is a serious issue of any sort, but I feel like each year that passes, I feel like I'm getting older and older and the temporal gap between now and my childhood (the 90's) would feel more and more distant. Maybe it is perhaps the fear that I would lose everything I held dear in the past? Or is it that I fear that media franchises/series that I believed is ongoing is probably coming to an end? Or is it the fact that this whole decade is about to disappear?

Oh and just for a little time capsule-y end to this post, I'll say: For anyone in the future reading this post, please know that I used to be afraid of the end of a decade, now you should do your part and improve your end of the future. Bye now.

Um, that's merely getting older. You feel like that because it's true. And it's normal.

It's all part of growing up. Just accept it and move on.

I have been a lot lately, but I have had a lot of changes in my life. Less than two years ago I was healthy, employed and with no one to take care of but myself. Now my blood sugar acts up here and there. I am in laid off and in college with a daughter that I provide for.

I could whine more but I know all this is part of life, but I sure miss the lower stress levels of a few years ago.

If the future you mean the next few days then yes, very nervous. If you mean, the whole big space/time continuum, not so much.

Not really fretting about my imminent future, nor I am I worried about 2012 for example. I know it sounds cheesy, but I am just living and trying to learn as much as I can, and then I die.

My childhood was in the 50s and 60s and I have just a touch of what you feeling on rare ocasions and then I sober up and it's gone.

It's called growing up, the world changes and expecting anything else is pretty silly. But in general the world is getting to be a better place even if the road there is bumpy.

And if media and franchises disappearing is actually cause real fear please seek help with getting a real life. That stuff is trivia, nice to have but not seriously important.

Thanks for your advices guys. Now I'm thinking... it's probably just a psycho-biological phase I'm going through and nothing else much.

Lead me to the future.
I don’t know what hells await me
But I know I have to go there
To return!
Tear me into shreds
And re-create me!
Tell me that it’s not to late
To learn!
I can feel the shiver
Of a shadow passing over
And I have a premonition
It’s for me!
Lead me to the future!
Show me everything
I’m terrified to see!

Yeah, death. Or becoming a vampire and outliving all your friends and family. That really sucks.

I'm anxious about the future, but that's because the future doesn't look great from where I sit, at least not in the U.S. I've got plans, but life is full of surprises, and I can't plan for them all.
