Just a fun little thread with something I got to thinking about the other day: What's your favorite Spider-Man chest emblem? I'm torn between the John Romita version he used during the early days of the newspaper strip and the design on the black costume as rendered by Art Adams.

I liked the redesign of the Spider-Emblem John Romita Sr did in ASM over the original design of Steve Dikto it looked better to me.
That Spider-Emblem by John Romita Sr did not changed much untill now,and works well in Spider-Man original costume. I am a big fan of the Spider-Emblem of the black costume,no preference for any artist ilustration.I think many artist that drawned that costume got the Spider-Emblem right. A Spider-Emblem i liked as well but is from a villain is from the original Tarantula. Very well done visually speaking.A original design by Sal Buscema i think.

Tarantula's design is a pretty good one. That said, I don't know as I'd like to see it on Spider-Man.

The eyes and the emblem looks really ugly to me.

I like that one, too, probably because it is sort of a cross between the classic Spider and the one on the black costume.

I like this design for a costume. I wouldn't mind seeing Spidey in the 616 wear this for a while to shake things up. And he could get it in a very classic Spidey way- I can see a scneario where all his other costumes would be destroyed, but there would be a supervillain attack happening right in front of him. So he runs into a nearby costume shop to buy a Spider-Man costume, but all he can find is a generic knock off "Spider-GUY" suit so that the costume company doesn't have to pay Spidey the rights to use his image. Spidey swings into battle with the new suit, and everybody thinks its a "new look" when in fact it is being worn out of necessity.
In terms of emblems, I actually prefer the movie version. Or at the very least, the emblem with the top four legs of the spider pointing up and the bottom four legs of the spider pointing down.
