Default Have there been any continuity changes b/c of Final Crisis?

Either I'm just missing them, there haven't been any announced, or there aren't any at all? Anyone know?

None that I'm aware of.

Final Crisis: Superman Beyond possibly retconned the origin of the Monitor from COIE, but given that we only heard the Monitor Race's myth of the event, we can't be certain.

I think that the Flash coming back was as much change as we are going to get. I would have loved some kind of change. My real question is... how many Ultraman types are there? I was reading about him last night and I was like... will the real continuum Ultraman please stand up! And Where is Earth-Prime now... if it was supposed to be destroyed then how are they getting new issues of comics and why if Earth Prime is us are we still getting issues... where is Earth Prime?!? Still love the end to Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds.

There are two Ultramen- the Ultraman of Earth-3 and the Ultraman of the Antimatter Earth. That's been the way it is since 52 ended. It was brought up in the exit interviews.

There was this minor character, Bruce Wayne, who was supposedly killed, but actually shunted off through time. There's been some passing mention of it over in the Bat-Books ;).

- Martian Manhunter kicked the bucket
- The New Gods are gone,
- The general population is aware of the multiverse
- Libra had a power upgrade and is still at large.
- Mary Marvel was cured (then promptly went bad again and was cured again...never mind).
- SHADE upped it's firepower, membership and standing
- The Monitors are (mostly) gone.

If you count the Aftermath books: Human Flame has been morphed into a kind of fire giant, Brother Eye has reactivated and is running a time traveling multiversal intelligence agency and the new Tattooed Man is joining Deathstroke's Titans.

Those are really status quo/character changes, not continuity changes.

The Batman being shunted through time thing could end up having an effect on Final Crisis.

Most of the continuity "changes" were really errors, such as the New Gods dying twice and so forth...

I'd love to see a definition of continuity change that doesn't include the existing condition. state of affairs. or characters being changed. Please provide one?

A change that only retroactively effects a character's backstory and/or origin rather than their current status quo in the present.

That would be Retroactive Continuity.A related topic, for sure, but not specifically what was asked about here.

Ah, but see, when people ask about continuity changes, they MEAN Retcons. Because changes made to/in the present don't need to be specifically called out as affecting continuity. It's just a change.

When someone specifically says "continuity change" it's another way of saying Retcon.

Did you read Final Crises?

Because I did and understand that someone may have to ask what happened in it.

what was described above was "continuity" as opposed to "continuity changes", which the poster above has correctly identified as "retcon"......

There were not continuity changes like in the first two Crisis series, beyond merging the Milestone Universe into the DCU. Otherwise, the history of the DCU as presented with "Infinite Crisis" and on through now, those are the only changes that occured.
