Default Extremely well researched thread about the best X Men mass teleporter "Hub"

Hub is a fictional mutant character in the Marvel Comics Universe. Her first appearance was in Excalibur vol. 3 #2.

Little is known about Hub before she made her appearance on the desolate island of Genosha. She was one of the few survivors after Cassandra Nova programmed her Wild Sentinels to decimate the island, killing over 16 million mutants.

Somehow she found other survivors and allied herself with Unus the Untouchable and his gang. She was a very valuable asset on the island since all forms of transport were eradicated or made useless by the resulting electro-magnetic damage. Inside of the gang, she became close friends with Hack and the two of them began to doubt if Unus' exclusive, clique-like strategy was the best way.

When a mentally ill Scarlet Witch removed the mutant gene from over 90% of the mutant population, Hub was one of the many who lost her powers. However, Quicksilver—as an act of penance for his part in the worldwide depowering—stole some Terrigen crystals from the Inhumans in an attempt to repower some mutants. He started his mass efforts in Genosha and effectively restored the abilities of many on the island including Wicked, Freakshow, Purge, and Callisto. But in a cruel twist of fate, their abilities were amplified beyond control and quickly faded. Hub's fate since that time is unknown.

Powers and abilities

Hub had the ability to teleport herself and others over vast distances. In Son of M #5 it is also stated that she had some kind of internal radar enabling her to psionically "scan" her destination, preventing her to teleport into solid objects and possibly, unlike most teleporters, teleport to destinations she never seen before.

X-Men: The End

Hub is shown to be on the active line of the X-Men. The team—consisting of herself, Juggernaut, Polaris, Joanna Cargill, and Kid Colossus—teleports in to save the X-Mansion from the combined attack of Stryfe, Madelyne Pryor, and Genesis. spoilers:
She also teleports Dust, actually Madelyne in disguise, away from the battlefield before her death, when she teleported the exploding Shi'ar guardian Plutonia into space.
end of spoilers From her assertiveness, it can be assumed that she is the team's leader.

X-Men: The End is freaking awesome

Claremont really loved those Stevie Hunter hairbraids.

Uncalled for

Anyway Hub was destroyed by decimation and Pixie is now an HBIC.

Strongly and vehemently disagree.

Do not fault the character for Fraction's scripting.

Hay a lot of Black women wear braids at least twice in their lives. Its easy to take of and cute.

I was one of the rare fans that liked Storm with her braids.

OK, but that wasn't a slam against Pixie, it was just a testament to how good Hub is.

Pixie is still up there, just above Lila Cheney and just below Cloak.

I have to admit, I was officially bored with all that techno-bable you listed. But having the visual that Agent_Torpor provided, she piqued my interest...

Yah for more colored characters!!!!

I'd have liked her better if she blew that hair out into a full-on Misty Knight 'fro.

You guys are being a bit nit-picky with my ranking system. Lila Cheney, Cloak, Ariel, Pixie and Hub are all top-notch mass teleporters, I wasn't disparaging any of them. Hub is just a teeny bit better, is all.
