Default Realm of Kings: Inhumans #1 *Spoilers*

This was the only comic ever where I literally said out loud what a character said in-panel, before seeing said panel (not including "It's clobbering time" and like phrases).

SPOILERS (not too fancy, just an overview)

...Blastaar's thugs are trying to conquer a planet in the Borderlands, but Gorgon and his crew make short work of 'em. This leads to Gorgon's increasing popularity... Medusa is ordering Triton and some chick to go find Black Bolt, or at least, his body... Karnak makes her aware that she isn't viewed all that well by the masses, who love Gorgon... Maximus is (maybe? hopefully?) going a little Mad, with envy, again, but it's too soon to tell... some dude called "The Devastator" shows up preaching peace, and carrying a big stick, as it were... and then the "WHAT?" panel: The Mighty Avengers show up out of nowhere to kick this dude's ass.

Must be a Quicksilver-Crystal thing, but I sure as heck don't get it... but whatever, I'm intrigued.

The Devastator is this guy, although it looks like he's recruited some followers.

Nice. Hope he gets a lot of face time. My only complaint about Marvel's cosmic books - which I enjoy, for he most part - is that none of the characters really get enough solo focus/development.

Still, good times.

This issue was ok, probably my least favorite of the Realm of Kings #1's.

I'm still not sold on the Ronan/Crystal relationship.

What I did like was Maximus and can't wait what DnA do with him. They are good like that and obviously have something cooking.

I haven't read this weeks Mighty Avengers #31 as my lcs didn't get it in for some reason (bleepin' bleep!) but was there anything to explain why they would show up here? Were they after/following Devos? Just seemed like they showed up at the end just for the sake of it.

Yep. They've been fighting an Inhuman villain who was using a special type of Terrigen crystals. When they won, Quicksilver suggested they return the crystals to the Inhumans. So they teleported to Attilan and did just that.

The Devos thing was just fortuitous timing.

Oh, I have been following the Unspoken arc guess I should not have asked for spoilers, lol!

Cool, nice tie-in!

When i finished reading this book i said the exact same thing that Medusa said at the last panel. What?!

Really, WTH is going on here? Much like the Shi'ar RoK issues the fault is nothing but a few panels, well i think they got a page, and the rest is totally random stuff that doesnt really fell like it belongs there at all.

It's looking like this book is going the way of WoK where nothing that happened at the start had really anything to do with how the book turned out at the end. Marvel should just put out one or two on-goings dealing with the Shi'ar and Kree because this stuff like this for 4 bucks a pop is way too much. This stuff need to get to the story and stop screwing around.

By the way if Max is going to "play games" and control people and the APs again............................................. ....really? I mean, really? The last two times he did that the result was later ignored and..... the last two times weren't the first , second OR third time. He better be not messing around in the same way.

This was a decent extension of what's been going on during the aftermath of War of Kings.

Pablo Raimondi's art was pretty nice even if a bit too realistic for such a cosmic and out there book and most of the characters were portrayed well enough given what has happened throughout War of Kings. Plus the end had a cool cliffhanger with the Mighty Avengers coming in since it has current ties to Inhumans happenings in it's own title.

But I do have some problems with the book, it feels like DnA are treading water with the Crystal/Ronan relationship and Maximus seems to be heading back into villain mode now that the War is over but we'll see where that ultimately goes. I'm honestly not sure why this is a 5 part mini series unless there's going to be some major shake-ups throughout the book but it seems like an excessive amount of cosmic books to expect a Marvel fan to follow. And it doesn't help that they're all priced at the standard mini series $3.99 price point.

7/10

I wish I had your hope Noona.

DnA continue to put out strong work and I care about the GotG and the Inhumans and like this story, but the sooner the X-Men in space return home and I won't have to worry about where they are going to be next in space and the sooner I can get back to really enjoying the cosmic books like I used to.

Wow, Devos the Devastator. Ye gods, FF sucked back then. Still, it's fun to say Devos the Devastator. Try it out loud.

It felt forced abit in the begining how they expect us to believe Crystal and her new husband are suddenly close ... But at least they weren't all head over heels in love. More like Crystal Husband wants more from the relationship ...

Did you read War of Kings?
For some reason a whole mess of time was spent on telling how much they are falling for each other.
