Default Mighty Avengers #31 *Spoilers*

The Unspoken arc wraps up, and, surprise, the heroes ultimately defeat the Unspoken (Pym's solution is remarkably macabre in a lot of ways, though he's basically killed him without actually having to do so obviously). I liked the New Cap/Old Hawkeye/Stature combination to get her on the Unspoken's ship. For the most part, the other Avengers teams were mostly here to provide bodies for the battle, with the MA doing the heavy lifting, but the aforementioned characters and, oddly, Radioactive Man, get decent parts. The Unspoken as a parallel for Pym was about a subtle as a sledgehammer (that's one thing Slott could stand to work on a bit; his dialogue in a dramatic context tends to just be old-style characters saying exactly what the writer wants to get across).

The ending was probably my favourite moment of the arc, when Quicksilver's free ride comes to an end, ironically at the hands of the person he probably would like to fool most of all.

I enjoyed it , but i have to say there were quite of bit of really corny moments, and that light saber was a bit much. Luke Cage might have my favorite line in the book, his only line, still i found it funny. The Cassie/Clint moment was nice, a lot of Clint in this. Also i was glad to see Quick Silver in some lime light, and his use of U.S. Agent was hilarious. Tough break at the end though.

This was a fun story... though I'll admit I was hoping the other Avengers team would do more. If anything they were mostly in the way.

I was expecting something more along the lines of what we see with Busiek... where armies of Avengers are teaming up and all coming together to fight the big bad. For a big Avengers team up, it didn't feel as Avengery as I had hoped... not that it was BAD, but I was expecting some big Avengers moment that never really came.

Ah well, there's always Assault on Olympus think in Hercules.

his daughter Luna told him that she will never respect him again. he returned the terrigen crystals to attilan and then lied about the events of 'Son of M.' he said that it was a skrull impostor. most of the inhumans believed him. Luna's powers allowed her to see the truth.

Didn't Maximus reveal to Luna in Silent War that it was him who "inserted" some sort of darkness (at least that was what Luna could see with her power) to Pietro,Medusa and other Inhumans, making them act irrationally and/or doing his bidding? While that does not leave Pietro off the hook,it should serve as a mitigating factor of sorts for Luna.

Ofc,one could say you can blame only so much of Pietro's misdeeds to crazy uncle Max.Either way,Pietro has a long way to go winning back his daughter's trust.

I'm half suprised more people haven't tried pulling that line.

Though I suppose most on earth wouldn't be as willing to buy it as the Inhumans were.

That got Pietro off the hook last time he went "evil."

I'm not sure they'd buy it twice in a row, even if it was true.

There were some people using the Skrull excuse on earth driving lawyers and judges crazy, as Night Nurse told Electra in her DR mini.Whether people believed it or not would be beside the point.

And Pietro had the Avengers at his side, making his claims valid enough for the Inhumans.

So in other words, the Inhumans really shouldn't trust the MA because they're a bunch of liers.

Agreed. And with Maximus playing nice currently, they would be very hard pressed to buy it at all.One would think Pietro would have taken the psi defense crash course from Xavier by now. When he eventually finds out that Max played him like a fiddle again,he will wish he did.

Not quite. The only Avenger present who knows for a fact that Pietro lied is Pym,who is not seen to lie about anything,at least not on panel and in front of Luna.As far as the rest are concerned,Pietro is telling the truth. So if Luna asked them what they believed ,they would tell her the truth,as they know it.
