I have a love/hate relationship with Power Girl. As a Superman fan, I'm of course interested in his cousin and have always liked the fact that the E2 Kara was a bit different. However, as someone over the age of 14 I cannot stand the T&A thing she's been turned into, the most offensive being that unlike all the other female heroes whose breasts are drawn larger than her head, hers are "officially" supposed to be that way (sadly, there's no emoticon for the mother of all eyerolls). Nonetheless, I still look from time to time and I notice that in the Feb solicits she was everywhere---except in any Superman family book (that's where the irony kicks in as she's the cousin of the original Superman). I know many PG fans like it better that way, but to make illogical editorial edicts like that has resulted in her not benefitting from the World of Krypton event and her book sells less than any Superman family book. Maybe this is their way of making up for that.

Well, I agree with you about the not appearing in Superman books thing, and the not being in the New Krypton thing. There were a couple of reasons given, one, that they wanted to keep Power Girl separate so that she could develop, and the other, that Connor can't keep up a monthly schedule. Presumably meaning she couldn't draw fast enough to keep up with New Krypton.
Not sure I buy either, but there it is. And Didio did say that PG would be in New Krypton, (of the war with New Krypton), later. Whatever that means. Doesn't sound though like Power Girl will cross over with it---which might help the book's sales if it happened. |

Conner is a little notorious for delays with her work. She was supposed to do a graphic novel about Zatanna and Black Canary a few years back, and she never got to it do to delays with various projects.

If you put her into the New Krypton storyline, you've got to constantly keep mentioning 'She's not from this Krypton, but from a Krypton in a dimension that no longer exists'.
I think for the character sake, and anyone who doesn't usually read the Superman titles who has been interested by the storyline, it's for the best. Wish they'd hurry up with a trade of the series though!

To address the alternate universe issue---so what? We know nothing really about her Krypton, but we do know she's got the same powers, and relates to Superman and Supergirl well enough. |

I'm of the mindset that Amanda Conner is one of the draws for this title. I'm not sure if they would bring in a fill-in artist for a high profile tie-in.

If you've ever read a crossover or story from years ago - where you're either removed from, or never knew the context of other books going on - and there was a character who was big/important at the time but either had a very complicated story going on, or was acting very different from usual, it gets very confusing and becomes a drag. CSBG's Greg Hatcher explains it better. I like the character, I just think if she was there, they'd constantly have to mention that although she's Kryptonian, no one there knows who she is, and she doesn't know them.

You mean how they have to explain she's not from this universe in every issue of JSA? Oh, wait. They don't. They don't even mention it. You have no more reason to constantly mention it there than you do here. Her absence is just a contrivance. Nothing more.

That wasn't the case in JSA. Worth noting that she has a very minor appearance in the first 'New Krypton' arc, and it gets mentioned.

I accept the idea that Conner just wouldn't have been able to keep up with a storyline that depends on every book coming every week on time or it all gets screwed up. |

If anybody's getting a push it is Magog. Or the JSA.
Half of those books involve the expansion of the JSA franchise with a second team that Magog and Peeg co-chair. |
