How does Hal fair against the World's Mightiest Mortal? And why?

Unless Hal starts off super duper fast, a bloodlusted Marvel should be able to hit him hard enough and fast to take him out, even with auto-shields.
At least I think. Not sure if they could tank what Marvel can dish out so quickly. Especially with a few Shazam! bolts thrown in for good measure.

Poles aren't allowed here, save by special permission.
That said, I think Cap will take this, as Cleric said.

Definitely going with The Earth's Mightiest Mortal. I love Hal Jordan; he IS the Green Lantern and I can't imagine anyone I'd rather see with the ring, but Marvel is just too much. He's a match for Superman (personally I think he could take him, but that's another topic), he's magical, stronger, faster, more durable, etc. I do think it'd be an interesting fight; I mean I can't see Hal going down easy, to anyone. But in the end, the Big Red Cheese takes it.

Personally, I'm going with Hal here. All he needs is his autoshields to last long enough for him to think "intangible" and he's effectively won.

Er, if he can survive the initial onslaught, he can go intangible.
I'm not too familiar with Captain Marvel though, but with his powers' mystical origins I wouldn't be surprised if he can still hit intangible objects. Anyone got any information regarding that?

Captain Marvel is not Hal Jordan. Do you see where this is going?

Hal should be able to amp his stats to around Superman levels, and after that its basically a matter of whether or not he remembers that he can warp reality to his whims in ways that don't involve giant green boxing gloves.

It's mostly a board in-joke, but the guy amped himself enough to make the likes of Mongul reel. Give Hal a moment's respite and you're basically fighting a Superman clone that can also do pretty much anything else he wants, ever. Heck, Kyle once made emerald doubles of the JLA to pummel one of his enemies alongside him, IIRC.

All Hal really needs to do is survive long enough to start throwing out planet destroying blasts, which he can certainly do. Cap, like Superman, just isn't strong enough to bring those shields down before he does something nasty.
