Default Today I Went For A Nice Hike

...this morning in the rain with my hubby and my greyhound, on the Oregon coast up to a lighthouse (the park is called Devil's Elbow and is breathtaking).

Looking down from the little lawn area by the lighthouse, you can see the ocean far below. And there were dozens and DOZENS of sea lions playing in the water below. It was awesome. I've come here for many years, and there are sea lions in the surf once in a great while, but this was just unbelievable...endless sea lion riding the surf and jumping in unison, just diggin' the day.

It was pretty awesome. :)

It's a zebra snuggie. It might bring predators.

The zebra Snuggie and your red hair? The predators will be far too confused as to what kind of animal you are!

If you like hiking then come to Scotland.

I haven't seen anywhere as beautiful as Loch Lomond and the surrounding area. Lots of places to walk in that part of the country. The west highlands are excellent for walking too.

What's black and white and red on top?

Also, is this hiking thing a code like hiking in the Appalachians?

You have some great sights around you by the sound of it. And sea lions are VERY cute, that must have been cool to see

But I'd be wary of a place called Devil's Elbow. That's a horror movie waiting to happen!

Bring back Negasonic Teenage Warhead! Because there are more people who want to see her in the X Books than there are who want to see Jean Grey again.

We've got quite a few Sea Lions on the west coast, they usually inhabit the waters of California and Oregon but we've had a few up here in Washington to. Actually in some places there populations have caused some problems for local fisherman.

Out on the Oregon Coast they have caves that sea lions inhabit that have been made into popular tourist attractions.

I think Sea Lions like the attention, which is probably why they keep coming back, well that and there really nice caves.

Devil's Elbow is it? I'll look it up, I have a cousin in Portland, perhaps we'll take a trip out, she loves to go hiking.

Default Hmm being me

I have to be negative and mention that sea lions have become something of a nuisance. Apparently they are pretty destructive, at least in parts of California.
Don't know if that's true in Seattle though.

They can be destructive.

But this is just rocks and surf, nothing for them to cause problems with. It's inhabited areas they have problems with.

I was in California one year during pupping season. That was pretty darn adorable.

And why didn't Static go? He could have herded all of those sea lions right in order.
