Default Holy Terror Batman?

Em yeah, heard about this a while ago. It was supposedly Frank Miller's new batman comic, about batman fighting terrorists, seemed like a pretty weird basis, but I was interested nonetheless. He said it was coming out soon, and he said that back in December, and there hasn't been much other news I've heard since then.
Heard a couple a rumors that it may not even have Batman in it any more.
But I really don't know, so I'm wondering if anyone knows any information about comic, I would like to know what the hell is going on with it.
It better come out soon or it will be in more of a limbo than All star Batman and Robin, which is also by Miller, hmmm I think I see a trend.

PS. If there is a thread like this before I apologize, the search function does not work for me.

It just disappeared up Frank's ass I guess. For the better, I think. I mean, Batman punching out Osama Bin Landen? How God damn childish can you get!?

Supposedly it will still come out, last I heard.

I may be in the minority here but I would actually want to see it.

I think Dupin is right. I'm pretty sure Miller and/or DC has shown pages of the book to news sources.

Perhaps it was shelved due to common sense? There are some comics that due a good job of dealing with Islamic terrorism, but I'm not sure if a Frank Miller story could be done without seeming extremely racist.

I have no idea why people jump to conclusions and assume the worst.

Was Dark Knight Returns anti-American because it went after the hokey side of Ronald Reagan and his wars?

Was Dark Knight Strikes Again an enemy of free speech because it showcased the stupid biases and gimmicky tropes of television news media?

Was the Black Canary chapter of All Star Batman sexist because it highlighted how sexist macho males can be?

As for Holy Terror, for all we know Miller would highlight the CIA's involvement in the facilitation of al Quaeda in the '70s, or the U.S.'s support of Sadam Hussein in the '80s. I'm not big into conspiracy theories, or big on blaming the U.S. for everything, but those things are just historical facts, and the Frank Miller I know would rather spend his pages alluding to semi-hypocritical stuff like that than he would waste pages showcasing racist rhetoric.

And for all we know Miller would include vignettes showing the obvious prejudice of stupid Americans who brand ALL Muslims as bad. In fact, anyone who actually reads Miller's work somewhat carefully will see that he almost always shows different sides to controversial issues.

I'm not even a big fan of Frank Miller. I'm not even all that interested in Holy Terror. But to assume that Miller is a racist? It's like you guys need to fight the skiddish oversensitivity that the media has indoctrinated you with.

Batman fighting terrorists is a bad thing? Personally, I don't even agree with the real wars that the U.S. has been involved in for most of the past decade. But how is Batman (a hero) fighting any sort of terrorists (bad guys) so far beyond the pale? As readers are you guys that damn cowardly? Only an idiot--on EITHER side of the issue--would assume that Muslim terrorists in a comic book are the equivalent of all Muslims.

Miller may have said that this project would be somewhat in the tradition of the '40s WWII propaganda comics, but that doesn't mean that there will be racist rhetoric in it, or even that the book would be nauseatingly gung-ho pro-American (something Miller's never been), if that's what you guys are so scared of reading.

The book isn't out yet. I respect you JFM, but I don't agree with you on that.

Yeah, Miller did two or three years back but trying to track down those articles now is proving to be next to impossible. The best I could do is some screencaps from Space's interview with Miller.

I hate this whole idea. Miller isn't known for his sensitivity and has faced many accusations of racism before – 300 is a thinly veiled metaphor for Western supremacy and superiority over the Middle East – and i doubt he could pull this off without causing DC some extreme difficulties. Also, as far i'm concerned, Batman doesn't belong in the real world, he belongs in the fictional Gotham City. There's enough about the War On Terror in my life as it is, i have no desire to see Batman tackle it. It really is a very childish, flippant idea.

His Catwoman looks pretty cool though.

No it was sexist because Miller writes woman as sex objects, and nothing much more.

And I agree this is a lame idea. If it was a real political message, I would be behind it, but Batman fighting al qaeda is like an idea my 5 year old nephew would come up with.

Elektra, Casey McKenna, Catwoman, Sarah Essen, Carrie Kelly, Ellen Yindell, Gail, Wendy, Miho, and Martha Washington might well disagree with that statement.

This was announced 2006, right? So we've been waiting 3 years for this. I don't see this coming out anytime next year either. What the hell is Miller doing? We still don't have Sin City 2, All Star Batman is on hiatus, and he was also suppsoed to do a mini with Neal Adams. He couldn't have ditched all that for the dreadful Spirit movie, and now he wants to do Buck Rogers too.

Frank, just stop. Please.

It's Neal Adam's mini, Miller is just helping him.

I think Frank Miller is just trying to get as much work done before he dies.

I would add Tasha the Black Widow and Queen Gorgo.
