The black costume of Spider-Man had a comeback during the "American Son" storyline in ASM.
Spider-Man used the costume to impersonate Sinister Spider-Man to get inside the headquarters of the Dark Avengers. Besides this Spider-Man used the Black Costume in the "Back in Black" storyline from a few years ago. Except those two recent events,Spider-Man have not been using the Black Costume in a long time in the stories. So my question is should Spider-Man wear the iconic black costume again? The problem with the black costume is that Spider-Man looks more to be a menace with it,and his public image is always being made as being a menace from the recent "Spider Tracer mystery" and years of articles in the Daily Bugle. So the Black Costume would not help him clear his image to the opposite of the cheerful colours of his classic costume. And then there is Venom using the same costume in Dark Avengers, which could make Spider-Man and Venom look the same. So i think it would make sense if Spider-Man used his classic costume during the day,but while Spider-Man is fighting crime during night the Black Costume looks to be just right. As long Peter Parker just used the costume during the night, the chances of scaring the public would be minimal and would make Spider-Man more undercover while chasing a villain for example. So i think Spider-Man should rotate the classic costume with the black costume. And in this way Spider-Man should have more sucess fighting crime, and at the same time have his cool black costume back again. Some facts about the Black Costume that i want to add,the black costume was found by Spider-Man in Beyonder planet during "Secret Wars" and later revealed to be a symbiote which after being rejected by Spider-Man,was found by Eddie Brock which made the villain called Venom. And the idea of the black costume was actually created by a fan,in which was asked to the fans with new ideas to new costumes to Spider-Man. And one fan thought of a black costume, and this idea was bought by the Editor of that time Jim Shooter. And later used during the 80`s in many stories of Spider-Man of that time. So any thoughts in this? Should Spider-Man use his Black Costume again or not?

I would love to see him take it up again. And so it has more meaning behind him redonning it than the gratuitous movie tie-in "Back in Black", I'd have that he gets the actual symbiote back after its inevitable seperation from Mac Gargan. Perhaps on the verge of death following the events of the Gaunlet, it approaches him with the offer to save him, and having no other alternatives at the moment, (Remember BADLY beaten) he accepts and rejoins with it for more than 1 story-line. I'd be happy if it lasted for 2-3 years, heck, maybe even longer. And I'd have that after seperating from Mac Gargan, it reverts/devolves back into how it used to be before it became a Hulk-Sized parasitic entity that compelled the wearer to eat people ('80s-'90s).

Yes. I feel it fits the character better. Maybe he could wear the black costume in ASM and in New Avengers wear Red/Blue.
Btw you should add a poll.

The problem with the black costume is that Spidey is negatively reminded of the symbiote.

According to Wacker, he'll be using it next year sometime.

I've always preferred the red and blue costume. More iconic and better in every way. Having said that though, it'd be cool to see the black costume as a backup.

I prefer that Spider-Man had the just the black costume instead of the symbiote. The symbiote belongs better to Venom i think.

Maybe Mister Mets can do me the favour of adding a poll in this thread.

Now i just remembered something else that makes it more viable to Spider-Man use the black costume again.
One of the reasons why Spider-Man decided to not use anymore the black costume,is because when Venom was after Spider-Man this villain scared Mary Jane. Peter Parker using the costume would scare Mary Jane, now in the new status quo Peter Parker and Mary Jane are no longer together so Peter Parker have another reason to use the black costume again.

I feel that it'd be a nice transition with interesting build up to Venom's (Eddie Brock) eventual return. Since I, too, feel it better belongs with Eddie, I'd like to see Spidey back with it for a little while until Brock's done dispensing justice as Anti-Venom. AV's a relatively new character, and I'd like his end to be a natural one, not a forced one.

I say stay with the red and blues. The black costume has been done. Let's move on to a new costume and sell some more issues of ASM.
