Some people say Megan Fox..some people say Eliza Dushku..I say Megan Fox belongs in porn and the other one has a funny name.
Glad to see this film is making some progress.

I genuinely thought this was in development hell. A film could be cool.

But please don't start plastering that annoying "soon to be a motion picture" line across the top of each issue again. It's too soon and extremely annoying.

Guns should be illegal for civilians, in all countries. I am opposed to the death penalty, usually. There is no such thing as God, or the Afterlife. All religions are equal - equally stupid.

But don't ever call me liberal.

So far the following names have been dropped..

Eliza Dukupikachu
Sasha Grey
Stoya
Megan Fox
Kat somethingorother
Natalie Portman (dreamers in the niiiight)
Mila Kunis

Megan Fox is yummy, i'd love to put a lil something in her tummy. But unless she takes her top off in Hack/Slash, no ones gonna come runnin.

And the others, neh..

I think they should find someone who has done a lil tv work, maybe done small bits in a few indie films. I'd love to see the film not only do well, but help some new actress breakthrough.

But well.. time will tell.

This film won't help anyone "breakthrough". It's not that type of film.
What it is good for, is to possibly give a decent but struggling actor some work.

Yeah, the sad but true fact is that "break through" actors in genre films typically get type cast there. Although if the movie did well enough to become a franchise, some young lady could get a lot of work out of it. There's worse fates to be had.

Hack/Slash is a great comic book but it is a comic book. And comic books aren't a good way to measure popularity because most kids these days, their not into comic books like kids decades ago used to be. Kids today are obsessed with their ipods and their xbox's and their facebook profiles. But movies are still just as popular as they've always been. So if Rogue does this right, it has the potential to do very well. If they pull off the slasher bits well and the Buffy themes, they can attract the slasher fanatics and a few Whedon addicts.

And whoever plays Cassie, it can easily be their "Glen" moment or they could be typecast, hard to say. But either way, it would break them into the world of mainstream films. It just depends on Rogue and how they handle this one. I mean they've put out some great films such as SHaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Doomsday, and the remake of Assault on Precinct 13. But they've also put out a few bombs such as The Unborn.

It might not break the actress out but she may become a fanboy fantasy girl for a long time.

Id love to see Tiffany Shepis cosplay her, but shes too old to play Cassie and though shes a great scream queen i don't know if she could handle the subtle stuff.

As for good Rogue Pictures movies, how can you put that dreadful remake of Assault in with Shuan of the Dead?

Not to mention the extremely disappointing Doomsday.

Quite easily really. I always liked the idea Carpenter had, but I disliked the cast quite a bit. The remake had a far better cast, imo. I think Ethan Hawke is talented actor, and Fishburne plays a good bad ass, always has. I mean it wasn't an Emmy caliber flick, but it entertained me far more than the original.

In all honesty, I think a lot of the actors in the 70's sucked. I think talent wise, things got much better in the 80's and 90's, then started to take a dip again in this decade.

Tiff is probably a tad older than Cas, and not mainstream enough for a mainstream film studio, but she really can act the hell out of a movie. I saw her in an awesome flick called Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula, and, no kidding, she was totally amazing.

what Rouge NEEDS to get right is to make it enjoyable for people who don't read the comic, yet keep it true (to a degree) for fans of the comic. Making films based on a comic book property is a double edged sword. Wish em luck.

Hawke might be a good actor but he seemed wasted in that movie, denehey too and Fishburne's bedn phoning it in since the first Matrix.

I think the problem with the original was it was raw and rough cut. Carpenter was still figuring thigns out then. I dont think the remake did much to make it better, could have been called something else and still been the same movie. Course the original is a remake of Rio Bravo anyway so its kinda like copy of a copy of a copy at that point.

As for Cassie I think an unknown would be best. Of the people on the suspected list none jump out at me as being perfect for the role.

What about Vlad though? That wont be an easy job to pick either. You need him to be built like the hulk and have enough acting chops to boot. It would be easy to just keep him in the mask all the time and cast it like Jason, but it would be a mistake.
