The WildStorm founder talks exclusively with CBR News about reuniting with the other original Image Comics partners by providing a special variant cover for the highly anticipated "Image United" #1.

There is so much good stuff surrounding this event - I love going through the time line of events and all of the posts on http://www.imageunited.info and seeing how far this has come in the past year

Glad to see he could be a part of this somehow.
And regardless of the usual "OMFG why's he doing that when he should be working on this other book that's so late?" .......he HAD to be a part of this.

While i do agree a cover makes more sense, a page would've packed a lot of emotional punch. Dunno who he would draw, but having you turn a page and bam, it's Jim Lee would be great.

That's such an awesome cover. Too bad it'll probably be $100 to buy. Hopefully they (Image) releases the HC of "Image United" with this image.
Oh, and I wouldn't consider this to be Jim Lee's first Image work since DC bought Wildstorm (as it says underneath the cover image to "WildC.A.T.S." #1). He also drew the cover to "Invincible" #51. |

The sketch version is 100 bucks. The color version is regular price ($3.50, IIRC).

....and Lee drawing one of his own would create bigger legal issues (since the WildCATS and others are now owned by DC) than just him drawing a cover.
