Default Just finished reading 52. Questions.

So why were Flash, Batman, Superman and WW out of commission?

I have other questions but I'm re-reading before.

Wonder Woman: crisis of faith in herself. Awful idea, really. She was in it, if you payed attention. She was the woman in Nanda Parbat with the white anorak and the silver bracelets.

Superman: lost his powers.

Batman: similar to Wonder Woman. Went on a world-wide trip to retrain himself and reconnect with his humanity. I'm sure that this was actually mentioned in 52, as he had two issues almost completely devoted to him.

Flash: I don't recall the specifics, but Wally West was lost in the Speedforce, and Bart Allen was just getting used to the role.

Wally was lost in the Speedforce, and at that time Bart was still powerless. So the only Flash at that time was Jay Garrick.

Yes, they mentioned about Batman and Superman. But why did Superman lose his powers? And I thought maybe that was WW, but why would she be there?

Superman lost his powers? I thought everyone minus Flash just decided to take some time off, they talk about it at the end of Infinite Crisis #7

Superman flew superboy prime throught a RED SUN and then landed on MOGO and then superman and earth 2 superman finally defeated PRIME.

This left supes powerless for a year. Most of it was psychological.

This comes from Infinite Crisis: basically Superman took a trip through a red sun to help defeat an evil version of himself (Superboy Prime, who later appeared in the Sinestro Corps War and Legion of Three Worlds), and that depowered him.

Superman lost his powers as mentioned, but based on events leading into "Infinite Crisis", Clark was feeling as if he wasn't sure if he wanted to be Superman. So subconsciously, he surpressed his powers and became a normal person. He ultimately realized that he needed to be Superman and his powers returned in "Up, Up & Away".

Bruce wanted to get past his psychological issues that resulted in his being an ass towards his teammates. It was revealed in "R.I.P." that his true goal was to get over his fear of death and to do that, he had to remove the mental blocks that made up Batman, which he defined as a persona. Then he simulated the feeling of being buried alive.

Diana wanted to regain her faith and ultimately decided that she needed to live amongest humans, by being a human when necessary. "Who Is Wonder Woman?" answered that.

Wally was in the Speed Force with his family. Bart didn't want to be the Flash and so he turned it over to Jay Garrick. When Jay was in trouble, Bart put on the costume. Later, the Legion unintentionally brought Wally and his family back to Earth, when they were doing a ritual to contain Bart's essence when he was killed by the Rogues.

She'd tell him jokes. He'd laugh at something.

Or, he'd catch on to the fact that she planned his downfall, start sleeping with her, convince her he loves her, then take her down and break her self-image when she tried to make her move.

Speaking of that I love a DC run of "the end" series that Marvel ran a few years ago that sees what finallyy happens to some of thier best heroes at the very end.

The Punishers and Hulk where especially good if i remember (Punisher slowly dying at his families grave and Banner dying of a heart attack and Hulk finally seeing himself as the strongest there is but is ttally alone on the planet)).

Seeing what finally happens to Batman and Superman and co would be great though you could say TDKR is a good interpretation of a "the end" story i suppose.

It went somewhere. It lead right into all the One Year Later books, launched a few series, set up the second weekly series and restored the Multiverse.
