I don't know about you guys but i've been seeing thundra around quite a bit in the marvel universe lately especially in the red hulk series. So i think that marvel should capitalize on the red head's popularity and give her her own comic book series. I know that she is kind of a wonder woman knockoff but im a fan of her anyway its kind of like being a fan of quicksilver even though he's like a copy of the flash. But anyway i digress. I for one think this would be a great comic book series for two main reasons first off we've only gotten little tastes of thundra's amazing fighting skills (mainly in fights with the thing and the hulk) and if she got her own series we could see her kick some serious ass and secondly because i think that she has some cool storyline potential. I mean you could go so go quite a few different ways with a character like thundra.
Anyway, sound off on what you think about this idea. Am i alone on this idea? or did i come up with a good idea? |

I think that Thundra first starting re-appearing in the She-Hulk series as part of the "Lady Liberators". I'd known of the character before, but I had not seen her that often over the years.
I agree with your idea. I don't know if she is really popular enough for her own series (though I'm still holding out hope for something like a "Liberators" series with Thundra and Valkyrie as the major leads) but she is certainly growing on me as a character. Also, now that her daugher, Lyra, is on 616 earth, the two of them have an inevitable meeting coming up. I assume that Thundra will be part of any future Lyra series, but I would like to see her on her own. The character needs someone to fill in the gaps of the past few years. For example, wasn't she "married" (or at least the mate) of Arkon? And wasn't his world destroyed in the JLA/Avengers crossover? One other thing: I think that we need to make sure Thundra gets the respect she deserves. When she first appeared, she was clearly as strong as the Thing. Let's make sure that element remains part of her makeup. There is a distressing tendency in comics to under-power female characters. I would hate for that to happen to Thundra. |

Dude i can't agree with you more. heck thundra needs to have a starring role in a comicbook period whether its lady liberators or not i'll take whatever i can get.
And to answer your questions i think that thundra and her mate arkon got divorced, maybe he couldn't handle her lol. just kidding. but yeah i think they got a divorce. and the question about the crossover, well thats simple really they changed what had happened in the beggining so her world never really got destroyed in the first place. strange huh? lol And for the last thing i couldn't agree with you more about the fact that thundra DESERVES respect, i mean if she can go toe to toe with the thing and the hulk (and win those fights in my opinion) then she is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with. And i would rather have no comic book with thundra at all if she wasn't the seven foot tall butt kicking femizon that we all know and love. So yeah as long as she's portrayed properly then i will buy a thundra comic any day. Oh and on a side note if you want to see thundra kicking some serious ass check out these comics: Fantastic four 129, 130 and 133, Marvel two in one 56, and hulk: raging thunder. |

Thanks for the recommendations. I think that I have Marvel Two In One #56 - that's where she is part of the wrestling squad that invades Project Pegasus, right? I think in that one, the Thing is afraid that she might accidentally kill him. I think that I've seen some reprints of the earlier FFs you mention.
Re: Raging Thunder: I have it, but I'm not that crazy about Thundra's portrayal there. Certainly, in that issue, there was no doubt that she was no match for the Hulk. Now, Thundra may not be a match for the Hulk, but I did not really get the feeling that she was shown as being as tough and invulnerable as she should be. Of course, she really wasn't there to fight the Hulk either, so I suppose that taking him on full power was not really needed. I have another Thundra appearance, though I can't recall the exact issue. But I think it was an Avengers' Annual from way back. In it, Thundra has a brief battle with Ms. Marvel and holds her own. BTW, are there any battles between Thundra and She-Hulk? Did they ever fight when SH was part of the FF? Obviously, they knew each other from before the recent appearances of the Lady Liberators. |

I've wanted Thundra to join the Thunderbolts for forever! I would support a solo book!

yeah that's the issue. she really starts to beat up the thing till the fight got broken up. that always disappointed me with the thundra vs the thing fights she would be beating the crap out of him and then someone would interfere with the fight right when she was really starting to win. that's not really fair if you ask me. but i still liked the issue. that's good that you've seen some of the other ones too cause that thundra at her best man. I also get your points about hulk raging thunder, but the upside to that issue was that it brought thundra back to marvel. and thats always awesome. and maybe this is just me playing favorites here but if you ask me if thundra was fighting her very best i think she might have a shot at beating the hulk, you can call me crazy but i think that she has what it takes. lol. (if spidey can do it then so can thundra) oh and im not sure about the last part of it. i'll get back to you on that. |

That's great! we need as much support as we can get. And like i said before if she becomes a main on anything i'll be fine with it, heck she could join the new avengers and i'd be happy. |

Thundra rarely appeared in any Marvel Comic after 1980. She's very much a 70s icon. There was a mid 80s Fantastic Four issue by Roy Thomas in which Thundra brings Thing to her world to fight some third-rate android. But she and She-Hulk never met in any FF storyline. The recent issues of She-Hulk was the first story to even show she and Thundra interacting. I don't see an ongoing in Thundra's future, but a mini series by Jeff Parker would be welcome. |

Yeah like a said before it would be great to have an ongoing Thundra series, but if she were to star in lady liberators or even star in her own mini series then that would be fine with me too.

This is literally one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on this board.
Hey, here's an idea: How about giving Paste Pot Pete and Madcap a buddy team-up book? That sounds like an equally genius idea. |

Really digging the sarcasm man. But believe it or not there are quite a few people who like this character myself included. so i know that you're entitled to your opinion and all and i respect it. But you're wrong man, this would make for a really good comic book. She has some good stoyline potential.

I actually like the idea of giving Thundra a shot at a solo title though I don't feel it very realistic right now, or put her in a Lady Liberators (name change?) series ...and even the Paste Pot Pete/Madcap team up. Those guys would sell like crazy!..or maybe TO the crazy...well...at least a couple of copies.
