Default Dr Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog

I recently watched this and I have to say that it's pretty damn good. I'm not a fan of musicals as such but definitely enjoyed this.

I'm hoping Joss delivers that sequel he has been talking about.

It's looking more likely with Dollhouse canceled. He and the writing team (all of whom also worked on Dollhouse, as far as I know), will have more time to finish up writing it. Then they just have to wait for the actors to have some time off.

Despite the obligatory spoilers:
last-second major character death
end of spoilers, I found myself quite enjoying Dr. Horrible, which I finally saw in its entirety last week. My wife even enjoyed it, and she's a hard sell on a ton of shows; I basically had to tie her down to watch Mad Men with me.

Everyones a hero in their own way...in their own not that heroic way ;)

I love the songs in this thing. And while the ending annoyed me for the obvious reason (Not wanting to spoil it for anyone but it's to do with you-know-who's fate) at the same time it did get me a little misty eyed.

The question is if the actors will have time to film is as well. I never bothered with whatever-the-hell sitcom thing NPH was doing so I have no idea if it's still going on or not but I do know that Fillion has been filming Castle for ABC.

I would still LOVE to see Joss and the gang expand the story a bit, add a couple more songs and take this baby to BROADWAY! I'd bet money it would kick every ass on the TONY AWARDS!!!!

Seeing it on Broadway would be beyond incredible

And I hope the actors can find the time to do the sequel. I want to see how things play out now Horrible's finally gotten what he wanted (but at a price)

That "whatever-the-hell sitcom thing" is How I Met Your Mother, and it's easily the best, brightest and funniest sitcom currently on tv. I highly recommend seasons one through four on dvd, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Sitcom's aren't that time-consuming. I'm sure NPH can do it if Joss can. Nathan Fillion could be more of an issue, since hour-long dramas tend to be a burden.

Didn't they film the entire thing in a couple of weeks? They wouldn't even need the summer hiatus, just for their breaks during filming to line up. And I believe both shows film in LA, so that would make it even easier.

Having it on Broadway would definitely give it a chance to win all the awards it already deserved but couldn't get because of the circumstances.

I'm relatively certain that between Dr. Horrible and The Guild, Felicia Day will be on the short list of "people responsible for the creation of a new Online Short-Form Emmy".

The thing is, I used to be a big Broadway musical fan but more and more I haven't bothered because the bulk of the new musicals have just been so... derivative. I mean, people used to complain about Hollywood turning old TV shows into movies but then Broadway has become little more than Hollywood movies turned into musicals!!

Dr. Horrible was so clever, so inventive and in many ways so non-derivative (okay, so it spoofs on comic book tropes but it least it does so in a smart, fun and clever way) that I'd really love to see it show all these Broadway producers how stuff is REALLY done.

The beginning theme music for Dr. Horrible is my ringtone.

It is one of the few things in life that I am a super huge nerd fangirl for.

If you haven't had the chance, you should buy/borrow/rent the Dr. Horrible dvd and watch "Commentary the Musical" it is good stuff too.

The DVD isn't available over here yet for some reason but I found the commentaries on YouTube and highly enjoyed them. Better Than Neil is probably my favourite of the lot.

I want the Bad Horse song as my ringtone. It's so random
